These are great trash can wastebasket liners.
LeahBTX
I've had bags this thin that opened without tearing but these require a lot of patience to do that.
Allison Leinbach
With the inside of the bag stuck to itself, the bottom is rounded instead of flat.

These bags are about as thick as a dry cleaning bag. They are clear and meant for paper waste. I have them in my bathroom, office and bedroom wastebaskets where thin and clear means that you can still see the decorative basket. I am using them in my kitchen as well. The 10 gallon size alone makes it obvious that they won't be suitable for lots of heavy trash. I normally put any 'nasty' garbage in another container, eg empty coffee bag, veggie tin, etc, to avoid leaks and spills anyway. It is a short trip for me from my kitchen to the 33 gallon can that goes to the curb so I don't mind emptying the kitchen trash as needed. # of stars is mostly for price: I put this item in my virtual cart then checked the price at Costco: $8.96. Anyone willing to pay nearly $23, the current price, must be expecting a very different product and is bound to be disappointed.

I bought this product through Amazon based on a review/suggestion for Litter Locker for cats. I was using the litter locker to scoop the used cat litter into and it came with a pull through, tie off bagging system that ran out within two weeks. The bag refill was very expensive. I have three cats and I would be buying the refill at least twice a month. These bags fit easily down in the litter locker and hang over the top edge and a lid snaps in place to hold the bag in. Too bad the litter locker manufacturer doesn't sell this product. It would make more sense and people would be happier with the locker.

To reviewers who say these bags just aren't strong. Try 3-4 days worth of used kitty litter from three peeing, pooping cats. I certainly don't want to lift out a trash bag and have it break and all of that spill out. Hasn't happened. I lift the top of the litter locker and lift out the partially filled 10-gallon liner and cart it out to the trash. It is a very thin but very tough bag. No tears or breaks. As for the cost, I haven't seen these bags at my local Costco store. I looked and looked the last time I was there and couldn't find any ten gallon bags. I'm very glad I can buy them on Amazon!

Keep one of these inside the basket of the shredder. Emptying the shredder usually involves at least a few shreds going everywhere but with these bags things are neat and clean. Just pull out the bag and throw it and the shreds away. This is a great product.

I get these at Costco and they are really cheap. They are very thin but I am only hauling garbage for one. In six months I've never had one break. They are about the same strength as a grocery store plastic bag. As an added measure, I put a small cardboard box at the bottom of my garbage pail to lift the height of the bag up a few inches to create extra room at the top so I never overload them.

This package is very economical with 500 bags.

If you know what to expect, and use them accordingly, you'll probably be happy with these.

My husband and I have an 8-gallon kitchen trash can, and for years we had previously used 13-gallon trash bags because we never saw anything smaller in any local store. The problem with that was a temptation to overfill the trash can so that we wouldn't be wasting all that extra space in the trash bag. Unfortunately, our urge to thriftiness led to it being more difficult to pull the bag out of the can when it was finally emptied.

This bag is not a drawstring bag like many that are sold in our local grocery store, however, that isn't significant to us. With 8 gallons of garbage in this 10-gallon trash bag, when we empty the trash, there is still plenty of space to either hand-tie the top or use one of the separate twist ties (we call them "twisties") that come with the bags.

As for the thickness of these bags, here is how we see it compared to the bags we have previously used: I did some research and found that these bags are the same thickness as we have used for years, though they seemed thinner to us at first just by looks, maybe because they are transparent rather than opaque white as our old bags were.

We use these bags for our 8-gallon recycle bin, which contains paper, cardboard, plastic and tin cans, and we use them for our regular trash, which has mostly food waste and coffee grounds. We have continued the habits we had in place with our old bags for waste: we never put melon rinds (specifically cantaloupe and watermelon) in the garbage without double bagging them in other plastic bags. In fact, we have gotten in the habit this past year of simply double bagging cut-up melon rinds in two thin, small plastic bags of the kind found in the produce section of a grocery store and immediately taking that outside.

What can I say, they are trash can liners. They do the trick. They are thin as expected, thats all I needed.

These work really well. I thought they would be flimsy and cheap because of the the price for 500 bags. Now I want to buy more!

Upon arrival, used my first liner. It worked well and did not leak. Seems to be sturdy and a good product. One complaint. No ties were provided with the product.
