4.0 out of 5 stars This is getting consistently good review on epinions
This set is getting consistently good review on epinions. One useful one says that they're oven safe to up to 500 degrees. Calphalon Advanced, the other Consumer Reports top rated brand for durability is oven safe up to 400 degrees.

2.0 out of 5 stars Finish is coming off
I bought the stand-alone 6qt saute pan last week. After using it twice, I noticed a vertical stripe down the side that looked like a drip stain. I treated this pan like a baby, didn't wash until they had cooled, then used a soft sponge and towel dried. Nor did I cook with anything acidic - not that this should matter. There's no reason why the finish should be coming off...

I treated this pan like a baby, didn't wash until they had cooled, then used a soft sponge and towel dried. Nor did I cook with anything acidic - not that this should matter. There's no reason why the finish should be coming off on a new product that was well-treated. Aside from this, I was quite happy with the pan, and the price is great, compared to a similar item from Caphalon. But I'm returning it and not sure whether to risk buying a replacement from Costco.

5.0 out of 5 stars The "HIGHEST" rated cookware set from Consumer Reports, July 10, 2009
By
This review is from: Kirkland Signature 14-Pc Hard Anodized Cookware Set
I don't get it with these negative reviews, I chalk it up to with some people, nothing is can ever be good enough. This cookware set is the "tops" It ranked much higher (getting an 81 score) than cookware sets costing upwards of $1000, according to Consumer Reports. I always have trusted Consumer reports and everything I have bought based on their reviews has never failed me. The price on this cookware set also is fantastic for 14 pieces!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great pans but..., December 2, 2009
This review is from: Kirkland Signature 14-Pc Hard Anodized Cookware Set
I have had this pan set for about 5 years. Overall I like the pans.

Pros: Good pan sizes and assortment, even cooking, fast cooking time, and easy to clean up.
The teflon coating has been pretty durable. It is not flaking but has scratches and I have always hand washed them and used only plastic utensils.

Cons: When you want to simmer something with the lid on, the lid will not stay skewed to let the steam out, they just slip back on the pan. The pans are also hard to hold the lid on to drain any liquid because the lid wants to slide off. The handles on the sauce pans and skillet are hard to hold on to to pour the food out of, especially the skillets. The steel, rounded handles just want to roll in your hand. The largest skillet does have a second handle which helps.

If I were to buy another set, I would look for rubber handles, or wider, steel handles, and lids that strain. I believe there are sets out there that have these qualities that are just as good.

2.0 out of 5 stars The outside coating is wiping off!, April 5, 2009

I got these as a Christmas present 3 months ago. I think the maid may have washed a couple of the pots in the dishwasher. Tonight I took 2 of the pots out to start cooking. I rinsed them under the sink, and noticed that the dark gray outside coating was running off with the water pressure to reveal the aluminum material underneath. I could write my name in the pot with my index finger, no resistance at all, it was just running off like it was liquified. I looked at another pot I haven't used yet and the gray outside paint does not rub off the same way. My large stock pot is a much lighter gray than the unused pot. The outside coating is coming off, I wonder if the Teflon is next!!! The pots definitely don't look good with the outside coating removed, they look very cheap. I was enjoying this set until this happened tonight. Not many reviews note this problem...yet.

3.0 out of 5 stars can buy much cheaper through costco, November 8, 2008
This review is from: Kirkland Signature 14-Pc Hard Anodized Cookware Set
These pots are absolutely amazing in every way, but they are much cheaper to buy directly from costco, or costco.com. The only reason I rate this lower is for the price. Otherwise, they may be the best pots on the market.
