This is a good bargain. The box is a bit heavy, so you need to sit it on a sturdy surface where it can stay. The foil unrolls easily and is easy to cut to desired length. The width is ideal for most home uses. In my opinion Kirkland foil compares favorably to standard Reynolds Wrap.

This is NOT heavy duty aluminum foil. It will rip and puncture much easier. Most of what you are used to buying at the grocery store is thicker than this type of foil. It is not as good as protecting pans while cooking items in the oven, but it works fine for food storage (counter-top, transport, fridge). I would hesitate to recommend using it for freezer storage. I think items would sustain freezer burn fairly quickly if you used just this.

Thanks for taking the time to read my review, and I hope you found it helpful in making a purchase decision.

Been using this foil for a couple months and it's good as any I've used - of any brand. Not the real "heavy duty" stuff for some things but the quality I usually buy for kitchen use. But what was I thinking - 1000 feet! I suppose I hate running out of any kitchen supplies and those miserly 50' rolls are a waste of time bringing home, I run out before I get started! Well I was shocked at the size of this roll - goes with not reading shipping weight and etc. As a single older geezer (not quite senile but. . .) this will be part of my estate unless I live to 110!

I bought this as I finally ran out of my Reynolds 624 foil which I had bought about seven years ago. I figured that since it has the Kirkland (Costco) branding, it couldn't be that bad. And it's not "bad", but it's certainly much thinner than my previous stuff -- way thinner. This isn't food service quality here, and if you are wanting (or needing) that quality you will not like this foil. It is so thin that you will rip it frequently while cutting it from the package, and I can see myself having to double it up to do things like baking potatoes.

However, for a home user this stuff is probably ok, and one really big upside is that you will be able to store this in a regular sized cabinet -- something I could not do with my old roll -- I had to store it in my garage pantry due to its large size.

I'll go over the pros and the cons:

PROS

+ Small footprint for easy storage.
+ 1000 ft roll should last for at least 6 or more years.
+ Availabe with prime shipping.

CONS

- Thin, it will have to be doubled up for baking often -- negating the 1000 ft pro.
- Tears easily.
- Not food service quality.

OVERALL

I recommend this for the home user only, but for the price it's a fair deal, just don't expect food service quality with this one. If you need thicker quality move up to the Reynolds 624 or 620, they cost a lot more, but if that's what you need, that's what you need.

Recommended with caveats.

This is great foil for everyday use of wrapping up food for the fridge or to take for lunch. That's all I use it for, so I can't comment on its effectiveness for baking or protecting against aliens. It's true most of the first couple of feet of foil are wasted cause the foil sticks to itself in places, but once you carefully get the roll going all is good. Plus it is much thicker than I anticipated so I am happy. Still wish foil wasn't so expensive overall tho

Had some Kirkland brand aluminium foil prior to this that was ultra heavy duty, all descriptions said this would be the same, not so. While this is still a great value, and better quality than other brands, it is not what I was expecting. I suppose when I run out (anticipated mid 2019) I'll do some shopping around.

the product really rates a 4 star. i would like the product even more if i didn't have to fight with it. i wish they package the aluminum foil better, like use bubble packaging on each end of the foil. when i received my kirkland premium aluminum foil and opened the box i notice the foil was crushed on one end. therefore, i have to fight with it because, the foil don't tear even.

It's thinner aluminum than the standard Reynolds that I guess most people would be used to. But you get a ridiculous amount of it. However, there seems to be some interesting QA problems with it. Of all the ones i've bought, the first handful of feet are pretty much useless because for some reason they seem to be oddly stuck together at a point and unable to be separated without tearing. There also seems to be a problem where when I put a sheet on my table and something on top of it, it rubs off and leaves aluminum coloring on my table. I've never seen that happen with Reynolds.
