The 'Kirtan Kit' is overall another nice product put together by Mandala Publishing. The kit contains a illustrated booklet with two 2 CDs (one containing professionally recorded kirtans and the other kirtans recorded at temples in India) and a pair of kartals.
Like the 'Meditation Kit', Mandala put together a nice product that quietly promotes Gaudiya Vaishnavism. Those interested in this Path and neophyte devotees too will appreciate its contents. My only small negative comment--which made me rate it four out of five stars was the booklet. The(CD holder)outer book cover separated from the booklet contents due to cheap gluing. Perhaps Mandala can fix this issue by keeping the CDS in separate sleeves from the booklet itself. As for the booklet's contents, I had wished their were more instructions for kartal beats that would go with the CD's kirtan recordings. Such info could have useful the song cards. (For those interested in kartal lessons for kirtana, Krishna.com has a very nice and inexpensive 'Kartal Lessons' video) The kirtan song cards are nice and similar to the quality of Mandala's other deity card sets. Overall I would recommend this product--at the reduced cost that Amazon currently offers. |
