About the Author
Born and raised in a small coastal town in Maine, Kirtana currently lives in the redwoods of the Santa Cruz mountains in California. She describes her music as sat-songs - contemporary sacred songs celebrating divine love and the truth of who we are. She has performed internationally and her music has been used by many noted authors in their workshops and presentations, including Gangaji, Eckhart Tolle, Brandon Bays and Byron Katie.

For those that love Kirtana's albums, and for those that don't yet know them but can read music, this is a must have songbook. It contains pretty much everything the lady wrote the last two decades.
Nicely but not abundantly illustrated - after all, this is about music - the pages provide seriuous singers, shower singers and along singers with the words of wisdom Kirtana passed on to us. They give guitarist and keyboardists all chords and melodies, so none of the nice subtleties Kirtana puts in her songs will go unnoticed. Which doesn't mean to say the chords are very complicated; they generally aren't. Yes, dear lovers of the new genre of 'heart and soul music', contemporary devotional, or whatever you wish to call it: we can now all sing and play Kirtana songs around our sweatlodges and in our temples. Please do; it makes the world abetter place.

I bought this music book and one of Kirtana's CD's. They go together perfectly and it is great fun to be able to play and sing her music. I intend to get the other CD's that go along with this book. If you like Kirtana's music and want to play and sing the songs, you will really enjoy this book.
