This is the best safety latch for cabinets!
1hward
The clasp mechanism is easy for adults to slip up and down and has so far deterred my toddler from even trying to figure it out.

The product is simple and easy to use and works on my cabinet.

Pictures are misleading, these are pretty short. Outstretched they reach about 5 1/2". If your knobs are spaced further, these won't work. The description should indicate this.

Good idea, but with a trip to the hardware store I think I can do just as well.

I really, really wanted to like these - mom invented, USA made, etc., but there are many concerns I have re: the usefulness & safety of this product. The cord is essentially a thicker, round shoelace like this --> Round Shoelaces 3/16" Thick Solid Colors for All Shoe Types Several Lengths, complete with the little plastic tip covering the ends. These are the main problems I've found:

1) The cord is tied into a knot at each end and the knot is covered by a plastic cap. This is VERY attractive to my 9 month old teething baby. Even in black against brown cabinets, it catches her eye (as it dangles exactly at mouth height and all of the materials have a slight sheen). And there are a lot of textures to chew on - the plastic tip (made of God know's what with adhesive too), the knot in the cord and the plastic cap (which is thick and rounded/tapered but still has a sharp edge). My daughter is more attracted to the cabinets than she ever was before. I only have these on certain kitchen cabinets. I intentionally left others accessible, so she can safely explore. She has no interest in that, however, only the Kiscords.

2) For some reason, I cannot get a tight enough fit with these cords. I pull as hard as I can, secure with both plastic pieces and I still have some "give" which enables the door to open slightly - just enough for my daughter to stick her arm through (1.5 inches to be exact.

After trying many cabinet locks purchased from a big box baby store I started researching other options as none of them worked. My children were either able to get into the traditional locks, they kept me out or they damaged my new cabinets. These kiscords worked on ALL of our cabinets. They even worked on our entertainment center eliminating the need to put back all the dvds everyday.

They are also GREAT if you are going on vacation. Just throw them in your suitcase and off you go. I even bought an extra set for both sets of Grandparents for when we go visit. Even with arthritis my mother can easily get into her cabinets while keeping the grandchildren out!

Love, Love, Love this product!!! Highly recommend it!

We have oddly spaced cabinets and none of the "commercial" products seemed to fit. My daughter actually took one set off. We got these and they seem to be working. What a simple idea and great concept. I think the pull is too complicated for her to attempt a this stage. They are certainly not parent proof (we can easily get to our items when we need to.) Plus I LOVE that these are made in the USA and shipped quickly. Just got them this week, so I will add to the review later on. I am hoping they are durable. The cost is very reasonable. For those of you Gaspard & Lisa watchers "triumph!".

Am still very pleased with the product. My biggest problem is remember to put them back. When they are on and closed she can't get into the cabinet. She tries but no luck. Would definitely recommend. My LO is 14 months old and they are working at this point. I purchased Safety 1st cabinet locks and they were either recalled or wouldn't fit on our cabinets.

I bought these because we have brand new cabinets & I have a 10 month old who gets into everything! These do not harm the wood at all, are easy for adults to get in & out of, but they keep baby out. I originally bought them to try mainly on the cabinets with household cleaners in them. But after using them, I'll be ordering more to put on all cabinet doors. They are a little shorter than i expected but after trying them out, they're perfect size & even gets around our french door knobs. Best safety lock for cabinets that wont ruin anything!

When we were looking for locks for our kitchen cabinets, we wanted something that we didn't have to drill into our cabinets. We tried some locks with adhesive and those did not work whatsoever. Then we tried the cheapo plastic slider locks. Those worked for awhile, until our almost 2 year old son recently figured out how to pry them off. Then we found these.

I think they are priced well and do their job. They are very simple to use and fit our cabinets. We've had them for a month and our son hasn't figured out how to open them. So far, they are a success and I would recommend them to a friend.

I LOVE these! They are simple to use and effective. No screws or adhesive to use, just string them over your (round) cabinet handles and voila! My son hasn't the dexterity to figure out how to loosen them yet, so all in all, pretty child proof.
