I couldn't make it past 1% of this book because of all the preachy bible quotes and trust in God messages!

This book is one of my favorite of the great writing of Catherine Palmer. A Kiss of Adventure is filled with mystery, suspense, romance, and lovable characters. Tillie is a woman who lives in Kenya, betrothed to a businesslike man, Arthur. She is bored with her monotonous life. Suddenly she is into an adventure, almost gets kidnapped, and is thrust into a strange partnership with the handsome Graeme. With the common goal of finding the treasure they keep you thoroughly involved in this page-turning book. What will happen at the end? Who's the thief? Will they fall in love? To find out read this book which will capture you and bring you deep into the jungles of Africa! Catherine Palmer does a superb job of writing a wonderful romance, adventure, mystery. Not too much of any one thing... a perfect book that will draw you in. It will soon become one of you favorites... a gem in your book "treasure chest"!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Reader will become a Part of the Adventure!!, March 9, 2011

What a wonderful book to read from a talented, Christian author! The reader will soon be engrossed in the adventures of Tillie and Graeme. You will find yourself cheering the characters on as they face obstacle after obstacle....and find yourself smiling as you watch these two slowly fall in love. I love the Christian aspect of the novel; a very "clean", romantic, and encouraging book with many lessons to teach the reader. I loved the mysterious "treasure element" to the novel, as well. The reader will definitely not be disappointed. I can't wait to read more novel by this wonderful author!!!

I enjoyed all four books in this series but this one is my favorite. Be prepared for non-stop action and a taste of Africa.

different cover. It was an excellent novell. It takes you all along Africa, and shows how standing firm in your Faith, even when it's hard always reaps a reward, even when you don't expect one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another WOW! from Catherine Palmer, April 20, 2004
By
I absolutely loved this book. Catherine Palmer has excelled herself. The characters were realistic and everything was believable but had just that touch of fantasy that is so essential in an inspirational romance.
Tillie Thornton loves working with her Neem trees in Africa but longs for a bit of adventure. She gets more than she bargains for when a young boy throws an ancient amulet round her neck. Kidnapped first by a determined Targui wanting the treasure of Timbuktu and then by Graeme McCleod life is just about full of adventure for her.
Graeme McCleod just wants the journal of a famous Scottish adventurer but a couple thngs stand in his way, one being the tuareg caravan and the other being Tille Thornton. Taking her away from the tuareg was one thing, taking her along with him is another but unfortunately it is the only option when Tillie doesn't give in to him like he had expected.
Two very different people wanting very different things. Two very different people with very different vies. Can they ever be more than another man and woman to each other?

5.0 out of 5 stars I Want To Read Again and Again!, September 7, 2004
I MISS MAMA HANNA!!!!! I read all FOUR of them (the last one is not included in the Treasure's of the Heart Series, but it should be. It's called "Sunrise Song") These are such good books, starting with "A Kiss of Adventure". The next one is "A Whisper of Danger", the third one is, "A Touch of Betrayal" and then the last one above. They are "Indiana Jones" with a Christian Romance intertwined throughout! And by the time I read all four of them, I felt like they were a part of my family! And I really felt a loss for Mama Hanna when I finished them! HA! I sent all four of them to a missionary friend of mine who is living in Africa now and she is thoroughly enjoying them, too. A delightful series! I will read them again, and again!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best of whole series!, February 12, 2007

I have read all four books in this series, and have to say that this is by far the best! I love the adventure, and how it never really let up. A great book! Clean, but a good romance too. Graeme is a studmuffin, and Tillie a great girl who seems to love adventure as much as I do!:)A must read for anyone sick of tired over-done plots, this one is definitely original! It was interesting to learn about the different cultures (a.k.a the Tuareg) and I loved that it was set in Africa. Also... Bachelor's Bargain by Catherine Palmer is great! Enjoy!

5.0 out of 5 stars I love this book!, November 18, 2005
I bought this book with some doubts because I read some of the other books written by Catherine Palmer, and although I enjoyed them, they all had a little tone of soap opera at times that kind of bothered me. But from the beginning "A kiss of Adventure" proved me wrong! This is an excellent story! I couldn't stop reading...every page is filled with adventure and romance...romance and adventure...

Everything starts when Tillie is suddenly pulled into a Land Rover by the mysterious Graeme McLeod. From that point on, Tillie's life will change for ever. The race for the treasure of Timbuktu is on, and these two characters will have to go through deserts and crocodiles to solve a mystery that started two hundred years ago...

At the end, Tillie will find her real treasure...the treasure that was there all along but she couldn't understand...It's a great story...a great book...If you like heartfelt romance with a twist of adventure this is the book for you!

Enjoy!
