Book Description

Lady Adelaide is engaged to be married to a duke, but sometimes the heart creates its own destiny...

Lady Adelaide Robins, the charming and beautiful daughter of an impoverished earl, was raised on the foggy moors of Yorkshire. Never in her wildest dreams did she imagine she would travel to London, capture the heart of a duke, and receive a proposal of marriage. Is she ready for a life of luxury and privilege as a duchess? Or will her heart forever belong to another?

William Thomas, the second son of a Yorkshire viscount, is about to be disowned for his unbecoming ambitions to become a medical doctor. But what does it matter if he can have the woman he loves at his side? Determined to finally claim the hand of Lady Adelaide, his lifelong beloved, William is shocked to discover that she has accepted a marriage proposal from a duke. With the wedding only days away, will he be able to win back her heart?

Note: A KISS BEFORE THE WEDDING is a romantic SHORT STORY, approximately 50 pages in length.  If you are interested in reading this short story in print, it can be found as bonus content in the print edition of SEDUCED AT SUNSET, the next instalment in the Pembroke Palace series.

"Julianne MacLean's writing is smart, thrilling, and sizzles with sensuality."--Elizabeth Hoyt

5.0 out of 5 stars Charming December 7, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Lady Adelaide is having second thoughts before her marriage to the Duke of Pembroke. Should she follow her duty or her heart? Adelaide is sweet, and as indecisive as any young bride who doesn't know her groom very well would be. William is deeply committed to her. And as for the duke? Do we have a little Team William/Team Theodore happening here?

For anyone who hasn't read the Pembroke Palace series, this is a great introduction. I'm looking forward to the rest of the series!

3.0 out of 5 stars Buy the Bundle of this Series on the Palace March 7, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
This is not worth $.99 for 48 pages. No time for character development to put it mildly. My first book of the series on the Palace was A Kiss at Midnight, which I loved. The main character's from this book are in A Kiss at Midnight. Buy the bundle which includes 3 books, and worth the price and you get to know all about the character's and how their lives turn out. I am only writing this, so people know if you buy just this story because it is $.99, you will be left hanging and not knowing what truly happens. (ljb)

5.0 out of 5 stars Charming and richly romantic January 17, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
A Duke has proposed, the wedding is planned, and all is in readiness. Then Lady Adelaide Robins receives a letter from a man from her past - a man she's tried very hard to forget. He summons her to a midnight meeting. Will she go? Does she dare? "A Kiss Before the Wedding" is a charming short story with crackling dialogue and two admirable characters caught in a difficult situation. If you haven't tried the Pembroke Palace series yet, this is the perfect introduction to Julianne MacLean's lovely, richly romantic writing.

3.0 out of 5 stars I was actually rooting for the duke. August 10, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This novella was not long enough to become emotionally attached to the characters. I never saw the duke, but for some reason I was rooting for him. The main characters were unremarkable and quite self centered, thoughtless of who they would hurt.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love Romancxw July 31, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I love the victorian era in England and think it was one of the best, of course I do not like the way men thought women had no brains, but in these books we seem to do OK.
