I read the first book by Ms. Kohler called Marked by Moonlight and could not get into it until toward the middle of the book. It took her a while to get the story going for me and I was not all that sympathetic to the male hero Gideon but I loved Claire. This book however suffers no such slow start. Kit March is introduced in MBM as Gideon's sister and in that book she seemed more of an annoyance to him. So much so that at times even he did not seem to want to take time for her. In this book, however, the story is solidly hers and Ms. Kohler has done a much better job of developing the story early on so that you understand Kit and get a pretty quick sense of what drives her and why she seems so solitary. However Kit has desires, and wishes and dreams of a normal future; of home, a man to love and children. Well, Ms. Kohler has wrapped up Kit's wishes in a big old christmas bow and calls it Rafe Santiago.

Rafe is originally sent to kill Kit because she is a rogue Lycan hunter and a female. Both of which are not tolerated by the two organizations that sanction the killings of Lycans. But from their first encounter you can see that Kit touches something in Rafe and it may not be so easy for him to eliminate her.

Now I won't reveal the plot twist but suffice it to say that the twist just makes the story jucier, the attraction more potent and by mid way through you are rooting for them both to find their way to each other and survive at all costs even when Rafe is forced to do something which may turn Kit's hatred on him full bore. The intimate scenes are hot, and there are enough of them to totally support the plot and the intensity of the characters. The Lycans who are on the hunt come across as sufficiently terrifying (if a bit too stupid). The one character who makes an appearance from the first book is a centuries old Lycan named Darius and I cannot wait for Ms. Kohler to put her mark on his story in a future book. I also very much appreciate the fact the this IS Kit's book and she has left Gideon and Claire out of the way (on vacation) and given the full stage to Kit, Rafe and the rest of the evil dead crew.

With this book Ms. Kohler has become an automatic buy for me and I look forward to her next effort and hope she can sustain the quality, sensuality and pace in her future work.

Kit March has made revenge her mission in life. After her parents were killed by lycans, she and her brother turned hunters of the bloodthirsty species. But being female, Kit's chosen lifestyle is prohibited by NODEAL (National Organization for Defense against Evolving and Ancient Lycanthropes), despite the willingness of the agency's local authority to look the other way. She's a rogue hunter, taking on the dangerous beasts night after night, all on her own. But with NODEAL being subsumed into EFLA (European Federation of Lycan Agents) and policies now being strictly enforced, Kit soon finds herself among the hunted. But not for the reason she thinks.
EFLA has sent its best agent, Rafe Santiago, unaware that he too is a rogue and an unknown quantity. With her identity released to the city's lycan population, Kit has little choice but to trust him or wind up dead. But how can she reconcile herself to her frenzied attraction to a man who's been sent to kill her? And how can she accept what he's come to tell her--about herself and her future?
Kiss of a Dark Moon is a thrill a minute, and the tension swings like a pendulum between horrific danger and urgent sex. A seemingly impossible romance, this dark, sexy paranormal is a must-read.

I think the premise in this series has some potential but it definately needs more development. I thought the last book was a 3 star review however, I struggled to get through this book because the heroine was so unlikeable. She was pig headed and ignorant. IMO the hero deserved better. I don't want to read about a woman who has intense sex and then spoils it by shunning her partner and throwing spiteful words at him as soon as he leaves her body. That's not romantic and it left a bitter after taste. Of course, she realises what an idiot she's been but this came a little too late for me. How disappointing.

Kit should be the secondary character who is the foil for the heroine. She is so judgmental, immature, closed minded and self-righteous I can't stand her. Truly couldn't finish reading the book because I disliked her so much. I am so tired of author's who seem to feel that a woman has to be a complete bi*** to be strong.

All Kit wants is to be a lycan hunter, but NODEAL, the American organization for hunters, has strict rules against female hunters. Of course, they have even stricter rules against rogue hunters too, but Kit doesn't let a little thing like that stop her. She knows she is better than many of the male hunters on NODEAL's roster and, with or without sanction, she is determined to do her part to eradicate the creatures who took her parents from her.

Enter Rafe Santiago. The sexy stranger is an assassin for EFLA, the European version of NODEAL, and it is his task to take care of rogue hunters. Watching the beautiful little huntress in action, however, he is more than intrigued by Kit. Not only that, he finds himself drawn to him in ways that have nothing to do with lycan hunting and everything to do with his long-denied libido.

Before long, Rafe and Kit are on the run together, with both EFLA and the lycans on their tail. The last thing they have time for is passion and love, but sometimes the heart won't be denied...

Sharie Kohler had me with the first book in her MOON CHASERS series, MARKED BY MOONLIGHT. But with KISS OF A DARK MOON, she really seals the deal, and this series is firmly on my pre-order list when the author releases new stories in this gripping saga.

I said in my review for the previous story that Ms. Kohler delivers a fresh spin on the shifter legend in the paranormal genre, and in the second edition of this series she really takes that to even a higher level as the story reveals more about the origins of the lycans, and introduces still a new creature to this world.

Rafe is a wonderful surprise. This man has more layers than you see at first glance, and watching them peel away as he and Kit grow ever closer is fascinating. I couldn't get enough of him. This hunter has more than one secret, and when they are revealed, we see more than ever the hero he truly is.

If you love kick-butt heroines, you are going to adore Kit March! This gal more than holds her own with any of the other hunters, and bests many of them. When she meets her match in Rafe, the sparks that fly heat things up in ways that kept me turning the pages until I reached the very end.

KISS OF A DARK MOON is a riveting paranormal romance that feeds the hungriest romantic heart and will leave readers excited for the next installment of the MOON CHASERS series!

OOOOh please! This book is not 5 stars material. If I could, I would give this book a ZERO!! It was bad. It was a waste of money. The story line went way to fast, and the characters were sooooo unbelievable. One word to describe this book was "stupid." F.Y.I. I am an avid fan of this genre; my favorites are J.R. Ward and Kresley Cole. Don't waste your money buying this book, or borrowing it from the library. My advice, if you haven't read Ward or Cole, read their books, they are 100% more interesting. What a waste of my time.

Being a lycan hunter has Kit March's raison d'etre since the soulless monsters killed her parents. Unfortunately the international organizations of lycan hunters forbid women to hunt and have marked her for death. When Rafe Santiago appears from Europe to eliminate her, she should be more afraid than intrigued by the handsome, ruthless assassin. Yet something about him draws her, even as she runs for her life.

Rafe can't bring himself to complete the mission that has driven him for as long as he can remember, nor can he resist the sizzling attraction he feels for Kit. But can he convince her he's trying to keep her alive when every lycan and lycan hunter in America is out to kill her?

MARKED BY MOONLIGHT, the first in the Moonchasers series, introduced us to Kit through her brother Gideon. This book takes us further into a well-crafted, original, paranormal world where the characters continually learn new rules and ancient truths that change them and their reality forever. Kit is feisty and courageous, and we cheer her every step of the way. The mysterious Rafe is a hero anyone will fall in love with--a loner with a terrible secret who gives his heart reluctantly and completely. The plot twists and surprises were so unexpected, I couldn't put this book down. Bravo, Sharie Kohler! I can't wait for the next story!

What a great item. I have waited a long time to get this. I will read it in the order of the other books.

This is the second in the series. It was better to me than the first. There was plenty of action and fun along with romance. I am a big fan of series books so I love when I get involved in the original story and can continue it into another book. This book could also stand alone and be equally good. The story starts out fast and continues with some fun twist and turns. I love the inner struggle for Rafe and the constant fighting with Kit that only seems to heat up as they go on. I am looking forward to the next one and hopefully more on Darius, he is intriguing. This was a fun read with all that this genre encompasses.

I read Marked by Moonlight and even though I had to push myself past the first few chapters I am glad that I did because the book really turned out to be a good read. I absolutely loved Shari's second book Kiss of a Dark Moon, it was great from the first page to the very end. Kit and Rafe were great together and the intensity and sensuality between the characters was wonderful. The book was very fast pace full of surprises, action, passion and humor!! Definitely a must read and I am looking forward to the next book.
