A hero who loves as any woman would want to be loved,
By
This review is from: A Kiss to Dream on (Mass Market Paperback)
A Kiss to Dream On features a terrific hero (only slightly too good to be true) and manages to integrate a disability and political issue into the romantic storyline without detracting from the narrative. If you like issue-based romances, you ought to enjoy this one a great deal. Since Pulitzer prize-winning columnist Jackson Puller witnessed the brutal death of a boy in Bosnia, he's been unable to shake its horror. His boss assigns him to do a series on the Wishing Star Foundation, run by Dr. Cameo Glynn. Dr. Cameo Glynn was born deaf, but has been part of the hearing world since adulthood with the aid of a Cochlear implant. But she is haunted by the mistreatment of her parents, and a continued bad relationship with her mother, who is abusive and mentally ill. Cammy is beautiful, sterile, and does not trust journalists. Jackson's got a wonderful way with kids, and it doesn't take long for him to win Cammy's heart, although she fights him every step of the way. But Jackson is willing to go the distance and do what he must to win her trust as well as her love. While there's much to like about this book, Cammy's stubborn reluctance to commit to Jackson eventually requires the suspension of a bit too much disbelief. Indeed, the sterility issue, so common and meaningful in historical romance, seems slightly out of place in modern times. Overall, however, this is a fine romance and one well worth reading. And, if you didn't know it, Nessa Hart writes historical romance as Mandelyn Kaye. TTFN, Laurie Likes Books Publisher, All About Romance

This author knows how to witr a good contemporary romance,
This review is from: A Kiss to Dream on (Mass Market Paperback)
Her business partner Dr. Costas arranged the dreaded interview via a friend at the paper. Dr. Cammy Glynn rejects the idea of a vulture like Pulitzer Prize winning reporter Jackson Puller disrupting her "kids." Instead, she wants to continue her work with deaf children via her Wishing Star Foundation, but needs the money a column(s) could generate.Jackson is still recovering from watching a child he befriended in Bosnia get killed. He wants nothing to do with the interview set up by one of the suits, but knows he has little choice in the matter. He soon finds himself falling in love with the beautiful psychiatrist, who has no room in her heart for adult males that desire her. However, Jackson, who likes children, begins a campaign to win Cammy because he believes they were meant to be. A KISS TO DREAM ON is an entertaining contemporary romance that centers on problems confronted by children with a hearing disability. The story line is both fun and serious, which shows that Neesa Hart is quite a talent to be able to make the contrasts work so well in her plot. Cammy is an interesting character, who has overcome several handicaps to be a success. Jackson is a heroic figure, though his post reaction from his time in Bosnia did not seem deep enough for a caring person like him. Still, Ms. Hart provides readers with a tale filled with heart. A Story To Cherish,
This review is from: A Kiss to Dream on (Mass Market Paperback)
A rare contemporary romance that actually has a plot about two wonderful people falling in love (instead of woman running away from the Mafia and snogging the cowboy secret agent bodyguard ad nauseum), "A Kiss To Dream On" features a hero truly worthy of that title. Jackson is a man who actually moves heaven and earth (figuratively) for the heroine Cammy, and for this alone, I am already moved. Jackson and Cammy are so right together, their quiet moments so tender yet funny, it's hard not to love this book.Ms Hart is a rare author who makes me cry and laugh at the same time (check out the last few chapters!). "A Kiss To Dream On" is indeed one of the best stories I've ever read in a long time. Excuse me while I dig into my bag of bad puns - this book is indeed "a story to dream on".

for those of you who love romance. This is a very great story and wonderful characters too. Meet Cammy, a great woman who will fight to help kids with a problem like her, deaf. Meet Jackson, a persistent man who also adores children and willing to fight for his woman. Mixed it up and bam.. you got yourself a great romance!

I found this book to be long winded and boring. I couldn't finish it. When I read a romance novel I want to see love, romance and sexual chemistry --- not an unrealistic male hero chasing after an equally unrealistic disfunctional woman with too many issues.

I loved this book. I love the romance and witty remarks. I really enjoyed that it's romantic without being so steamy that it's trashy. It is well written and a page turner. I loved the characters and the way it gives both the characters insight on their feelings as the story evolves. You see this man Jackson, fight with all his heart and soul to win over Cammy. How could you not fall for him? Ms. Hart throws the perfect blend of romance, comedy and compassion to create this wonderful story!
