Kiss Me Forever

He's Hot. He's Sexy. He's Romantic. He's Immortal.

If there is one thing Dixie LePage does not need in her life, it's complications. And the man sitting across the table from her in a crowded English pub, the one offering to buy the library of her inherited estate in a small English village, is a major complication. For starters, there's the broad shoulders. The slightly amused smirk. That smoldering look that makes it impossible to concentrate. And that infuriating, old-fashioned, and well, okay, incredibly appealing sense of chivalry. No doubt about it, the guy is hot and sexy. Of course, there is one wee little problem: He claims to be a vampire named Christopher Marlowe, as in THE Christopher Marlowe, famous playwright, contemporary of Will Shakespeare. Right. Amend that to hot, sexy, and totally insane. Please see "no more complications." So why can't Dixie seem to resist the warmth of Christopher's charm, the protective feel of his strong hands, or the tempting pull of his full mouth when the sun goes down. . .?

Love Me Forever

Does This Come In My Size?

Justin Corvus. That was the name of the gorgeous, dark-eyed charmer holding her hand in a sensual clasp, turning her knees into jelly. All struggling, single mother Stella Schwartz meant to do was let her son, Sam, browse through books at Dixie's Vampire Emporium. She hadn't counted on the shop assistant being a stylish super-hunk with the kind of Hugh Grant accent that makes a woman's thoughts wander through a neighborhood called Take Me Now, Please. And to top it off, the man's a sweetheart. The way he picked up on the fact that she didn't have two red cents for the Halloween costume Sam wanted but made it happen anyway? Total head-over-heels time. When Justin smiles at her, it's as if he's known her forever. . .and when he asks for her phone number--to let her know when the costume is ready, of course--Stella can't help wanting this feeling to go on forever. There's something very different about Justin Corvus. . .different and irresistible. . .

5.0 out of 5 stars Two great vampire romances, September 1, 2004
This review is from: Kiss Me Forever/Love Me Forever (The Vampire Series, Books 1 & 2) (Mass Market Paperback)
Kiss Me Forever: South Carolinian librarian Dixie LaPage travels to England to look over her recent inheritance, the Orchard House in Bringham. Dixie hopes the time in England will help her recover form the death of her grandmother and perhaps learn more about the Underwood side of her ancestors, especially since her great aunts whom she never met bequeathed the old cottage to her.

However, her idyll time is disturbed as her English family's solicitor Sebastian Caughliegh wants to obtain the secrets of the Underwoods. Sebastian, a head of a local coven, knows that Dixie's great aunts used Wicca powers to heal, but than utilized more mundane powers to blackmail their patients. He will kill anyone, including Dixie, to obtain those secrets.

Vampire Kit Marlowe shocks even himself when he finds the mortal American so appealing that he wants more than just a tasty morsel. He becomes her protector from Sebastian and his witches. However, Dixie not only reciprocates Kit's feelings, she tries to keep him safe from the coven. If they survive the local witches, will their love endure too?

Kiss Me Forever is a well-written supernatural romance that requires the reader to allow their imagination to flow with the plot. The story line is exciting, filled with non-stop action, and Rosemary Laurey hinting at intriguing pasts for several key characters deserving their own tales. Kit, who is actually Shakespearean age writer Christopher Marlowe, shows how creative and willing to take a risk Ms. Laurey is by casting a real historical figure as a vampire and male love interest. However, this novel belongs to the intrepid Dixie, who in danger and love goes where the brave dare not go.
----
Love Me Forever: Justin Corvus once was a regimental surgeon in the ninth Roman Legion Hispania, but now has a medical practice in modern day England. He is also a millennium old master vampire who has come to German village in Columbus, Ohio to meet with his old friend Kit Marlowe and his wife Dixie. Justin also has to negotiate territory for the New World vampire colony with Vlad Tepes, otherwise known as Dracula.

While playing shopkeeper in Dixie's shop, he meets the beautiful mortal woman Stella and her eight-year-old son Sam. In the very first moments of their first meeting, both feel an electrical attraction to one another. At first Justin is not going to pursue her beyond the time he is to return home but circumstance force him to turn her into a vampire. Even when she makes the adjustment, they have heavy-duty problems to work out if they mean to spend eternity together.

Fans of romance and the supernatural will love Love Me Forever, the fantastic sequel to the Prism award winning Kiss Me Forever. The vampires of ROSEMARY Laurey's creation are urbane, witty and easy to fall in love with. Their mates are their equals in every way, which makes for some amusing "discussions" when one doesn't agree with the others. Ms. Laurey is a talent that should be on every vampire fan's "must read" list.

5.0 out of 5 stars As I came to the end, shut the book and sighed, I felt like I'd lost a couple of friends..., August 8, 2005
This review is from: Kiss Me Forever/Love Me Forever (The Vampire Series, Books 1 & 2) (Mass Market Paperback)
Dixie and Kit make the perfect couple, in this memorable romance.

KISS ME FOREVER (PART ONE)

Out of curiosity Dixie LePage travels from her home in South Carolina to Bringham, a small English village, to visit a house she inherited from her grandmother. Being on another continent, in an idyllic village, with a new fortune seemed the ideal opportunity to make space between her ex-fiancé, get over her grandmother's death and fix her twice-broken heart.

She hadn't counted on falling for a gorgeous; broad shouldered Christopher Marlowe who claimed to be the same man as the famous playwright and contemporary of William Shakespeare. Both of whom have been dead for hundreds of years. Christopher, (Kit to his friends) is a sensual, caring vampire who becomes equally besotted with Dixie; a sceptic, who must recognise the truth, before it's too late. Will Kit ever come to terms with loving a mere mortal? After all, she'll grow old and die, whilst Kit's pain would go on for eternity. If only they could be together, forever.

Despite this, more trouble is brewing in Bringham. It has something to do with the previous occupants, two eccentric great aunts from the Underwood side of her family whom she'd never met. They'd built up an extensive library of books on witchcraft and the occult, belonging to their father, a retired colonel from the Indian Army. Deciding to investigate further, Dixie moves into her newly acquired lodgings and extends her holiday. Oblivious to the fact that her family solicitor, Sebastian Caughleigh and his nephew James know more than they are letting on. By Abel!

Mr. Caughleigh has his own reasons for wanting to disrupt Dixie's plans and send her back on the next plane home. As a coven leader, Sebastian abuses his position and uses witchcraft against Ms. LePage and Kit, with the help of his witches, Sally, Ida and nervous Emily. Sebastian is determined to do anything in his power to defend the Underwood's secrets from being exposed, killing anyone who stands in his way. Including Dixie if needs be.

Luckily Kit becomes Dixie's protector, and with the support of his good friends, Dr. Justin Foruvs, Tom Kyd and the rest of their colony, they join forces to attempt to stop the evil Mr. Caughleigh, and his strengthening coven from ruining Dixie's life. Will they stop the murderous solicitor in time?

Kiss Me Forever is an exciting, contemporary vampire tale with a new slant of the ancient vampire legend. Believe me when I say `this is one of the most enjoyable paranormal / vampire romance books I have ever read!' Ms. Laurey's characters pulled me so deep into their story, my outside world ceased to exist for a couple of days. I loved the way Dixie was a lost American, having to cope with our alien British ways and the dialect of those who live up north! Kiss Me Forever is filled with everything I love in a paranormal romance; a detailed plot with lip-licking sex scenes, descriptive settings I could lose myself in and a gutsy female lead I wished I could be. As I came to the end, shut the book and sighed, I felt like I'd lost a couple of friends, Dixie and Kit. Wondering how their alternative relationship would last under pressure, and what I'd do without the suave presence of smooth talking Doctor Justin Forvus (whose charming character I adored). Well, as you know, this book comes in two parts. Kiss Me Forever is followed by Love Me Forever. So I snacked on something quick, and sat down to read the next book in this series. Imagine my whooping noises (of excitement) as I discovered the return of Doctor Forvus, and a couple of old friends!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Definite Keeper!, January 11, 2005
This review is from: Kiss Me Forever/Love Me Forever (The Vampire Series, Books 1 & 2) (Mass Market Paperback)
This book is actually two novels in one. In the first novel, Kiss Me Forever, Dixie inherits a house from her eccentric Aunts, and decides to go to England to see the house and learn more about her unusual family, which were proported to be witches.

What Dixie doesn't know is that this sleepy english village has secrets--a coven of witches that practice black magic, and a vampire named Kit Marlowe. When the head warlock from the coven comes after Dixie's family secrets, Kit has to step in to help Dixie. While they are fighting the coven, they also discover Dixie's family secrets as well as their love for each other.

This is such a well-written paranormal romance, I couldn't turn the pages fast enough to find out what would happen next. You can't help but root for Kit and Dixie as they work side by side to try to discover the secrets of Dixie's family while fighting the secrets inside the small village. Some interesting twists and turns, one of which is finding out who Kit really is.

In the second novel, Love Me Forever, we get to pick up again with Kit and Dixie after they have come to the US. They receive a visit from Kit's friend, Justin, a very old master vampire who has come to negotiate territory for the New World vampire colony with someone most paranormal readers will be familiar with, Vlad, aka Dracula.

Justin meets a woman named Stella while in Dixie's shop one day, and their first confrontation is electric. Justin doesn't plan to pursue the relationship once he leaves for home again, but he is forced to turn Stella into a vampire because of circumstances beyond his control. They now have the problems to face of helping Stella adjust to her new life, plus work out their own relationship in the process.

This second book in the series will let fans see Dixie and Kit again, plus make them fall in love with Justin and Stella! It is a terrific sequel, and the funny and witty characters and dialogue brings a smile to your face and will make you laugh out loud. Ms. Laurey's heroines are spunky and have no problem standing up for themselves, whether against an enemy, or arguing with their own mates.

I am hoping she will write another book in this series. I absolutely love these characters, and really want to see them again and again. Her writing never disappoints me, and she is an automatic must buy for me. With her engaging characters and interesting plots with their twists and turns, I am anxiously awaiting her next novel.
