A Must Have,

I am waiting for all of the extended versions of Prince's singles to be released on CD. Until then, I must be content with what is currently available. The extended version of Kiss is the DIFINITIVE version of the song. Unlike dance mixes of the time, which simply remixed and repeated already existing parts of the song, this is a seven minute version of the song. The album cut, the three minute mini-masterpiece, is merely the beginning of the fun, as the funk is expanded for anther four minutes, building the song to its hilarious conclusion. Now if only the extended version of Anotherloverholeinyourhead were available!

I had expected an extended mix of Girls & Boys as well, but it's just the same as the album version. The extended Kiss is great, and builds upon the infectiousness of the song, but it sounds more like music was tacked on than it's the original edit. I personally really enjoy the song 'Under The Cherry Moon', but once again it's the same version.

The first 2 tracks on this CD are classics. Anyone who actually owns the Parade CD knows about the disappointment with "Under the Cherry Moon." I personally believe that "Girls and Boys" is one of the best songs that Prince ever recorded and I purchased this CD for "Girls" and not for Kiss. However, it's still a classic.

I Have The Orginal 12 inch Versions With Kiss&Love or The $.Before 99 thousand Re-Mixers of a Song An Artist Such as Prince Would Add Upon The Orginal&Man did Prince Ever.The Long Version is So Tight&Wicked that it makes the Orginal Seem Stale&Ordinary.His Long Versions of Songs are Very essential.I Wish He Wouldn't Have had 50 Mixes of His Songs done by others Because his Mixes were always tight.He Might Add Guitar,Bass,Keys,Drums or Horns etc... and he Would take the Song to A Whole Different Level.This is Classic Prince.Girls&Boys is a Jam.Under The Cherry Moon only really Works in The Film.But Just For The Kiss Extended is all you Really Need.
