You know how it goes: a band you never heard of, you stumble across a previous release and it knocks your socks off. Quick what else have they done? YES! They had an even earlier CD! You snap that up and it's great.
And...then...you...wait...and...wait...for...the...next....cd.
Finally it's coming out and the anticipation builds. It comes in the mail from Amazon and you're afraid to listen to it. Here's one of your favorite bands and you've been burned before under this circumstance (I'll never forgive Good Riddance for their final studio release).
Not to worry. Kim is even better on guitar, Patricia's vocals are perfect for these songs and the songs themselves are more varied in their themes. There's still the requisite creepy selection (Hitchcock Starlet & Highway 55 are spooky) and Horror Beach Pt. II is even better than it's predecessor.
Each listen reveals more about each song and you can just see the go-go dancers from their stage show bopping along to the rhythm.

This rockabilly band has gotten more attention than most underground bands in their genre, but I think it's because of their creative artwork and constant innovation. Their main following is in Europe, but since doing the Warped tour they have gained a following in the United States. Everything about the group is interesting: their look, image, style and sound just all fit and mold perfectly. You can't help but love and want to listen to them again and again.

This is their third release and add their rockabilly mixed with new wave and a sorta goth punk. This time adding a gothic side of punk is a stray from their previous releases, making it different, but I love it all. Listen to "Missfit" which features an interlude with the melody you'll recognize of the classic song "Our House". I recommend it to any psychobilly fans with a flare for fun.

I was relatively late to start listening Psychobilly. I have usually listened street punk/Oi!, NYHC, and Ska (Please read my other reviews on my favorites!). However, I cannot definitely pass enjoying the HorrorPops' recent efforts at "Kiss Kiss Kill Kill." This album would be the best work ever done by the HorrorPops, both musically and lyrically. The band has obviously progressed in a good direction, since the release of "Hell Yeah!" and "Bring It On!."

I tend to conceptually parallel HorroPops's "Kiss Kiss Kill Kill" with Tiger Army's "III: Ghost Tigers Rise" because both have two previous albums leading up to the third releases, and both contain more mellow 50's-oriented songs, highlighted by the upright basses. Also, I consider both albums to be the best masterpiece by the bands, with respect to the songwriting. I am just wondering how the HorrorPops will manage the next album because they have set the standard very high. In this sense, Tiger Army's 4th effort "Music From Regions Beyond" failed to carry the high standard set at the previous 3rd album. I hope that the HorrorPops would pursue the same vein in the 4th album.

The top-notch songwriting of this album is well demonstrated by the following sequential songs; "Kiss Kiss Kill Kill," "Everything's Everything," and "Hitchcock Starlet." It is always thrilled to listen these three songs in order. I can listen them with 10,000 repeats for sure! These songs are very beautifully written, especially "Hitchcock Starlet," which is my favorite song of the album. The band had never written such sensitive tunes at the two previous albums. These songs are not typical Psychobilly songs, which is good thing to make differences.

That said, this album is phenomenal on many aspects. The vocal, upright basses, and guitar works are just perfect to give a birth to the true music in the genre of Psychobilly. Actually, this album can be easily accessible to the wider audiences, not only for Psychobilly fans, but also for fans of good oldies or rock in general. The summer around the corner for the year 2008, this album "Kiss Kiss Kill Kill" should be perfect music to listen to, when you drive the car, or when you BBQ. Also, make sure to pick up the recent album by LA based Rezurex, because they are good too.

I couldn't wait to buy this cd and hear it since I've been a Horrorpops fan since the first cd 'Hell Yeah', which I consider to be a classic. (by 'classic' I mean that every song on it is near perfect) I was somewhat disappointed with their second release 'Bring it On'...so I was full of high hopes that this one would be great, and it is ! On first listen I thought "this is really good"...now every time I hear it I love it more and more; I keep hearing things in it that I didn't notice at first. Can't wait to see them in concert in a few weeks. The first single/video is "heading for the disco", which to me is the weakest track on the cd. Almost every other song on it, has some really cool unique quality vocal or guitar riff to it, so it's hard to pick favorites. "hitchcock starlet" is an amazing song though. The art work inside the cd is also great, doing parodies of classic old horror films. Buy it...you won't regret it. :)

I love this band. I saw them live back in September with the Dropkick Murpheys and they were phenominal. They put on an awesome live show. And that energy that I felt when I saw them perform can be felt when listening to their newest album Kiss, Kiss, Kill, Kill. I was truely impressed not only with lead singer Patricia Day's vocal range and clarity but also with the overall musicianship and song structure. This is a great ska-punk/psychobilly album and I strongly recommend this release for Horrorpops fans and those new to their work.

great album, 12 cool tunes, listen to samples then buy it ....you wont be sorry.if you like the albums then you must see them live. they are the best show around. very cool ,talented ,entertaining and hard rockin.

I was really looking forward to picking this one up, as I'm a big HorrorPops fan and I thought their first two albums were fantastic. I'm pleased to say this is certainly no disappointment. It's a lot more rock/punk than the previous albums, but I believe this is a really good step the band has taken. While I like the whole rockabilly sound of 'Hell Yeah!', I believe it's not something the HorrorPops should perpetuate in each album. As a result, 'Kiss Kiss Kill Kill' has a fresh new sound that will probably appeal to a larger audience, and hopefully enable HP to achieve more success around the world.

Patricia Day's voice is particularly appealing on this album. She's got that excellent mix of angry and sweet that a lot of vocalists seem to fall short of. The double bass isn't as apparent, but you can still hear it, and the guitars are much more "roaring" and full sounding. A nod to the lyrics in 'Heading to the Disco', as well. Good to know I'm not the only one who disapproves of the whole '80s revival!

I have a feeling HorrorPops are going to be huge in the not-too-distant future. I can only hope they are able to make it over to Australia for a tour!

I got this based on there first two albums and don't regret it one bit. It's simply good music and a lot of fun. It was great live too. I'd go see them again if i got the chance. And they played many songs off of this album as well as the other two. Also recommend Life is a Grave and I Dig It by Nekromantix. It's Kim Nekroman's (the guitarist for horrorpops) other band. Great albums.

Their best CD since the debut album. There are so many songs back to back that are perfect and great to drive to. I hardly ever skip tracks on this one.

A great CD from a rockin band. One of the few cd's that you can listen all the way through without fast fowarding to the next song. This cd has a more raw and underground sound then the previous cd's. While other bands seems to get a little dull after a couple albums, Horrorpops keeps getting better. If your a fan of psychobilly/rockabilly/punk/pop type of music this is a must. Seen them live and they're amazing (go-go dancers and all). Bands that you might try listening to with the same genre of music would be THE CREEPSHOW or MAD MARGE & THE STONECUTTERS.
