As a first time novelist, Julie Momyer has made her mark on the writing scene. To use a metaphor from her opening lines, she has hit one out of the park. From the beginning chapters to the finale, the characters and plot of Kiss Me Awake are well thought out and intriguing. The story draws you in and keeps you guessing as to how it will turn out. For those who like intrigue, mystery, and romance, this book has it all.

Kiss Me Awake by debut author, Julie Momeyer, is a book I had a hard time putting down. Mystery, danger, suspense, betrayal, secrets, love, forgiveness, redemption; all words describe Kiss Me Awake. The plot is well thought out and the author keeps the story moving. The story is so beautifully shown it felt as though I was watching the story unfold as if watching a movie. There are just the right amount of twists and turns along the way.

The characters are not one dimensional. They come to life as soon as you begin reading the first page. I found myself rooting for a character. Really disliking another. Feeling sorry for and then happy for another.

Don't be afraid to by this book! You won't regret it.
I can't wait for her next published book. Well done.

I just finished this book and was so hooked. I had a hard time putting it down. There were some moments I was a little confused because this was more of a mystery than a romance/Christian book. I don't want to spoil the ending, but it was all of the above. I so loved how the author blended both types, mystery/Christian together. She was not "preachy" which I liked, and she wove a really great mystery into the story. The times she quoted scripture were exactly the right moment for the storyline. I also loved that she did not go into great detail on the sins of adultery/sex. You got it without the detailed account. There are enough twists and turns throughout the book to really keep you guessing. I am looking for more books by this author. Wow...I do recommend this book for all readers. It is well worth it.

Julie Momyer's break-out novel, "Kiss Me Awake" is a terrific read. I thoroughly enjoyed her characters and all the twists and turns of the story. Just when you think you've got this murder mystery figured out, Julie throws you a curve ball and forces you to rethink your verdict. The book is very well written and enjoyable from beginning to end. I hope she writes a follow-up, as this book could easily have a sequel.

Kiss me awake!! First couple of chapters I was screaming that this is not a christian novel. Gave up reading and went back to NetGalley to check if I made a mistake and ordered the non christian book. The review there made me pause and go back to reading. And I don't regret it. As a mystery it was impeccable. Characters were well formed and very real.
The grace and the long-allenduring-love shown by Spencer can only be shown by Christ to us. And no amount of liaisons are going to fill the void that only God can fill. It really bothered me that she was such a whore (sorry for expression). I almost quit reading because of it. But then I realized the analogy of this book. We leave God looking for answers in other places thinking that even though we are His and He loves and protects us now, He will still leave us when life will become tough. (Sometimes it even feels as if he already left us). We, like Jaiden abandon God and find fleeting pleasures of the world trying hard to make sense of life and our role in it. But God, full of everlasting and enduring love is waiting for us with open arms. Not to condemn us but carry us forward, toward the brighter future with Him.
Enjoy this book! Amid a few frustrations it is an enjoyable read and a great lesson for life.

I have to hand to it my sister in law, Julie Momyer, for a job well done on her first published novel. This book is unique in many ways. The story line creatively intertwines the lives of the characters into a murder mystery, while at the same time, tackles the difficult issues of personal selfworth, long suffering, betrayal, and forgiveness. Being a person of faith, I appreciate how the author shared the message of Gods forgiveness and healing, without sugar coating the lives of the characters. Julie writes from her heart, and I look forward to reading more of her books in the future.

Actually bought this book because of the fact that I have known Julie since 1992. Guess it was more curiosity than anything. Not a genre that I would usually read. Very glad I got it. Book was well written. Characters were full and not overwritten. Plot was good. Language was very descriptive without being "wordy". Enough plot twists to keep me interested. From a Christian stand point it was insightful without hitting me over the head with it. All in all...... Bravo Julie! Keep them coming!

I am not a big fiction reader but a friend recommended I read this book, so I picked it up. I could not believe how drawn into the story line I was and how the author made the the characters come alive for me. I loved all the detail and was pulled right into every scene watching the story unfold. I have to say I really enjoyed reading this book and look forward to more reads from this author. I think she may have turned me back on to fiction!
