Magical,
By Karis Chin-Quee (Kingston Jamaica, West Indies) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Kiss Me (Audio CD)
When I first saw the music video, I was also hearing the song for the first time; therefore, I can't separate the effect the song itself had on me from the visual images. The music video I refer to is that attached to the sound track of Dawson's creek. The video and the song complement each other so perfectly. Leigh Nash looked both like some unearthly creature and a princess all in one. The musical introduction also adds to that fairy tale magic about the song. It makes kissing seem like some wonderful and joyous. The lyrics take you into the atmosphere of the video. Its hard to place the emotions they evoke, its an adult love expressed in childlike pleasure and its pure fantasy yet it makes the joy of kissing real. Her voice is lilting at the right spots and interprets it with whimsical clarity.

A beautiful song! I love the lyrics, and the instruments. Six pence none the richer puts a life into the song that other bands couldn't accomplish. One of my top 10!

A Pop-Classic,
By
This review is from: Kiss Me (Audio CD)
"Kiss Me" has by now more or less become a pop-classic. Featured in more than one film-score the song has clearly shown its validity.
Sixpence None the Richer is a great band that has much more to offer than just cute pop-songs. The non-album b-side track "Sad but True" is a great example of the rougher and more unpolished side of the band. The track comes very close to the style of the early Cranberries recordings on albums such as "No Need to Argue". Third track is a charming live-version of "Kiss Me", introduced by Leigh Nash as the first single off their new album and a song that the band is very excited about. Maybe they had a strong feeling that this would actually be the song that could give them their big break-through. And as time now has proven; they were right. Great also, that the band has reunited and already recorded a new EP (My Dear Machine ) and the Album "Dawn of Grace".

I first heard the song on the movie "She's All That," and I was like, "Who is that?" I spent about an hour to find out who it was, and when I finally did, I found the lyrics and now I always listen to the Audio!!

How old is this girl anyway? I don't think I can remember a voice as annoying as this girls'.When a song has the lyrics bring, bring, swing swing it should be classtfied as kindergarden material.Irritating enough that I hope someone kills her and doesn't kiss her.
