5.0 out of 5 stars This Single Kicks...
The title of my review says it all. This is a very catchy and cute break-up song. Allison has a beautiful voice that she is sure to grow into even better over time. I'm not a big fan of America Online, but I really like the use of the "Good-bye" voice sample, which gives this song a truly contemporary feel. It's obviously a song written for teenagers, but, being young...

3.0 out of 5 stars Ok But Not The Thunderpuss Remix
Simply stated the remixes here are ok, but the Thunderpuss Remix is missing from this CD and that is the track that is most sorely missing.

The title of my review says it all. This is a very catchy and cute break-up song. Allison has a beautiful voice that she is sure to grow into even better over time. I'm not a big fan of America Online, but I really like the use of the "Good-bye" voice sample, which gives this song a truly contemporary feel. It's obviously a song written for teenagers, but, being young at heart, I enjoy it as well. It's a great value for a CD Maxi-single...and has 5 great mixes:

(1)Radio Mix

(2)DJ Rafe's Urban Techno Mix

(3)Lorimer/Rafelson Club Mix

(4)Euro-Dance Mix

(5)Urban Mix

ALL the mixes are great, too! I personally prefer the Radio mix and the dance mixes (Lorimer/Rafelson & Euro-Dance), but, if you're into this kind of pop music, there's a mix for everybody. The only mixes not on here are the Thunderpuss mixes, but they hadn't been completed when this single was released. Here's hoping for a CD or even vinyl release of the [Thunderpuss] mixes, which I'm sure will be as awe-inspiring & powerful as anything else they've worked on.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great!, October 5, 2003
This review is from: Kiss-Off Goodbye (Audio CD)
Well, Amazon.com seems to not have a track-list for this single, so, here it is:

1: Radio Version
2: DJ Rafe's Techno-Urban remix
3: Lorimer/Rafelson Club remix
4: Euro-Dance remix
5: Urban remix

I'll admit, i've never heard of this brooke allison chick, and haven't heard from her since this song. But, the single being so utterly cheap, i couldn't help myself, so i bought it! And thank goodness! This song has some reallly hot remixes on it! track 2, 3, and 4 are awesome! 1 and 5 are basically the original, but still awesome. I highly recommend this if you like dance music, or like to listen outside of the box, get it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than Britany and Christina, June 14, 2001
By

This review is from: Kiss-Off Goodbye (Audio CD)
It's inevitable she will be compared to B & C. What's ironic is that she's so totally better than both of them vocally. Whereas Christina is way over the top in her aping of Mariah Carey on practically every other song, Brooke is just understatedly perfect in bringing out the pop coloratura phrasings in this single. Whereas Britney dances too conspicuously Madonna-like to punctuate her weak vocals in her MTV videos, Brooke glides smoothely and rhythmically to the beat like an Olympic ice skater in her amazing video.

Brooke strikes me as the most talented of all the pop sensations of the day. I love pop music enough to separate out who's outstanding from who's merely good. Brooke tops out in the category of spectacular.

Though it's much too soon to be certain, I have a strong hunch that, with the right collaborations or songwriters and choreographers, Brooke can dominate the pop scene at some point in the next five years the same way Madonna did in the '80s.

As for Britney and Christina, I'll bet they never expected someone as talented as Brooke would come along quite so soon. Mandy and Jessica were obviously no threat to them, consigned so far to the second tier of pop stars, but look for Brooke to be a serious contender for ultimate pop diva in the years ahead.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hey, very cool song, April 29, 2001

I listened to this song a while ago, and at first I thought it was kinda cheesy, but now that Ive listened to it a couple of times, I think its a really cool song. It combines those classical pop rythms, with the now techno pop sounds, plus I really like that AOL "goodbye" thing! Now, some people may find that annoying, others may not. Anyway, this song would be a nice song for teenage girls, you know a kinda fun girl song, not to serious and boring. So, if you don't want to wait till the album comes out in June, then buy the single.

3.0 out of 5 stars Catchy, but not meaningful, June 8, 2001
This review is from: Kiss-Off Goodbye (Audio CD)
Brooke Allison has an incredible voice. Her song "the kiss off" has a catchy beat, tune, and lyrics. Quite possibly the next thing in the music industry, or at least the next big act for Nickelodean. Brooke Allison has everyone that appeals to the pre-teen through adult age group. Though she maybe trendy, her song doesn't exactly have a deep purpose or meaning. Either way the song is decent.

3.0 out of 5 stars Brooke Allison: THe Kiss Off, review., May 9, 2001
This review is from: Kiss-Off Goodbye (Audio CD)
Okay when I first heard this song the lyrics totally made me want to turn off the radio. Like most people I look for meaningfull lyrics and these certainly are'nt very deep. To get a truly deep song you need to write the song yourself. But you can still get deeper songs then this from writers. IT was obiously written to make money. The upside to it is that it has a great hook, very catchy. But the chorus is a little off key. And though her voice is pretty expressive it sounds to muc like Christina Aguilera or Mikaila. I think just because she's beautiful people will eat her up like ice cream on a hot summers day...

5.0 out of 5 stars Clever, Catchy, & Creative, April 9, 2005
This review is from: Kiss-Off Goodbye (Audio CD)
The Kiss-Off (Goodbye) is one of the best pop songs I've heard so far. The chorus is awesome, and the AOL sounding "goodbye" is a clever twist. Brooke has a very powerful voice for someone her age, much like fellow pop princess Christina Aguilera. I hope Brooke, one of the only great teenage pop singers, will continue to release new material, and save us from other overated teen artists.

5.0 out of 5 stars Single of the Year (So Far), July 30, 2001
This review is from: Kiss-Off Goodbye (Audio CD)
[...] this is a great buy. There are 4 remixes for this song, my favorite being the Euro-Mix remix. This is 22 minutes long, (rounded to the nearest minute, 23.) So I say "What a great buy!"

If you like any of the following artists, you'll like this.

ATC~A Touch of Class, Britney Spears, Christina Aguliera, or even Eiffel 65 (EuroDance)

So what are you waiting for! ^_^ Go buy the Kiss-Off!
