5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best examples of the "Paperback Originals.", November 22, 1996
By A Customer
This review is from: The Big Kiss-Off (Linford Mystery Library (Large Print)) (Paperback)
Day Keene was one of the most prolific writers of the Paperback Original periods, when pulp magazines died out and novels took their place. The Big Kiss Off involves a returning war veteran who has found that his wife has divorced him, sold his childhood home and taken up with the town bully-turned businessman in a shady business deal. Our protagonist does his own sluething which leads to some genuine excitement. Some other authors from this underrated genre are Charles Williams, Charles Willeford, Robert Fuller and Al Fray
