Book Description

July 27, 2004
Marnie Wright has seen more than her fair share of testosterone, having grown up with four overprotective brothers. But now a longhaired mountain man named Jake Dolan has invaded Marnie’s peaceful day of soul-searching at her grandmother’s old cabin. Sure, she was trespassing on his property, but did he have to pull a gun on her? After being stashed in his secret underground lair–complete with security monitors and a huge arsenal–Marnie realizes that the guy is military, top secret military. Yet he also has the most beautiful mouth she has ever seen.
The last thing Jake wants in his dangerous life is a woman. He doesn’t like them and doesn’t need them. Still, a man would have to be dead not to fall for the sexy-as-sin Marnie Wright. But how can Jake have feelings for someone who may be killed just for being close to him? His days, after all, are numbered. . . .

Amazon.com Review

Setting: Mountains of northern California, present day

Sensuality Rating: 9

Newcomer Cherry Adair takes no prisoners with her sexy romp of a novel, Kiss and Tell. Deftly combining suspense, romance, and humor to can't-put-this-book-down effect, Adair introduces readers to Marnie Wright, a computer analyst in the midst of a career crisis, and Jake Dolan, a top secret military agent running for his life. Jake's heavy-handed attempts to intimidate Marnie into leaving the mountaintop retreat where she's contemplating her next career move don't faze Marnie, whose four overprotective older brothers have left her testosterone-averse--unless of course the commands are issuing from the most sensual pair of lips she's ever clapped her blue eyes on. It's lust at first sight for the mountain man who has no time for blondes, no matter how nubile, and for feisty Marnie, who aggravates Jake even as she saves his bacon when the bad guys come after him. Her saucy and sexy style irresistible, Adair is a bright new star in the romance genre!--Alison Trinkle --This text refers to an alternate Mass Market Paperback edition.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Read!!, October 18, 2000
When Marnie Wright spent the weekend at her grandmother's mountain cabin deciding what to do with the rest of her life, she never expected it to be the turning point in her life. Marnie had grown up with four over-protective brothers. She had always deferred to their wishes because it was the path of least resistance but after the recent death of her beloved grandmother, she decided it was time to live her own life. But a longhaired mountain man, named Jake Dolan, intruded on her thoughts while she was sketching in the woods. He accused her, at gun point, of trespassing on his private property.

The last thing Jake Dolan needs in his life is an attractive, petite blonde. He knows how dangerous they can be. Hiding out in his secret, underground mountain lair, complete with security monitors and a huge arsenal, Jake is a hunted man. And now he will have to keep Marnie safe from the terrorists who are combing the mountainside.

When I first saw this book, I thought what an attractive cover! Will the story be as good? The answer is yes!! This story has it all--action, adventure, suspense, steamy love scenes, good character development, a strong and tender hero, a spunky, honest heroine, a loveable Great Dane and if that isn't enough-- the story is well-written! Wow!! Don't miss this one. Kudos, Cherry on a job well-done.

Also included in this book is an excerpt from Ms. Adair's next story. I look forward to many good reads from this author.

5.0 out of 5 stars Get Ready to be Entertained!, January 17, 2001
Somehow I missed Kiss and Tell by Cherry Adair when it was published in September. Let me tell you, it was my lost. I'm glad I discovered this book. It is one of those books that pulled you into the story and wouldn't let go. I ought to know since I didn't start reading it until 9:00 p. m. and stayed up until 1:00 a. m. to finish it.

Marnie Wright is the over protected daughter of a millionaire. She heads for the hills to spend the weekend at her decease grandmother's cottage before it is torn down. She is ready to reevaluate her shelter existence, decide what she wants out of life, and then go for it. You have to understand that Marnie is no little innocent miss who can't maker her own decisions. It's just the opposite. Marnie has had severe health problems that resulted in surgery. Her mother died when she was young leaving her with her father and four brothers. Sometimes when living in a male oriented household it is just easier to go with the flow than to fight five over protected males.

Jake Dolan is a spy fighting to save his own life. Not only are the bad guys after him, someone in his own agency is out to get him. Jake is wants no one around especially the short, blond bombshell that confuses his peaceful existence with her illogical sense of logic.

I loved this book. It has great, snappy dialogue. The interaction between the hero and heroine is comical, dramatic, and sexy at times. Into this story, Ms. Adair has thrown a Great Dane named Duchess and a secret underground lair stock with every kind of imaginable weapon and technology.

I will admit, at times the plot is a little unbelievable. But you know what? I didn't care. This book kept me entertained from beginning to end. If you like romantic suspense, find a copy of this book and get ready to be entertained.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome! I've found a new "automatic buy" author, October 1, 2000
By A Customer
After reading other favorable reviews of this author/book, I decided to give it a try, and I am so glad that I did!

If you love Linda Howard's secret agents and Suzanne Brockmann's Navy SEALs as much as I do, you should give Cherry Adair a shot. I think she'll hook you just as easily as she did me. She keeps things moving at a brisk pace, writes snappy dialogue, and gives us a strong but sweet hero (in the truest form of the word).

Plenty of adventure, action, humor, and honest affection for these characters. And (yea!) it looks like there could be a few sequels for them to pop up in in the future. I wish Cherry's next book was ready for purchase right now - I'm eagerly looking forward to it, and I will definitely buy anything with her name on the cover!
