More About the Author

Professional musician, turned author, of the most controversial tell-all rock book to come along since "Hammer of the Gods," "Hit Men," and "I'm With The Band: Confessions of a Groupie." says, "Controversy has become my middle name. Can I handle it? The real question is CAN YOU?"

Author of the hit book KISS & TELL and the sequel, KISS & TELL MORE! and also Rock & Roll War Stories, Gordon shows more balls than Bill Clinton under fire but with a sense of humor and, unlike the comparison, with a blunt honesty you have to admire.

"I've done more than 500 radio interviews and I truly enjoyed every single one. But I love when an interviewer connects and gets on a roll. It creates magic and great comedy."

When KISS & TELL initially came out, it struck a major nerve in the die-hard KISS fan community and the hate mail poured in.

"You know you've made some kind of impact when you get a shit-load of hate mail. Mother Theresa probably received hate mail. My favorite veiled death threat was 'If you show up at a KISS Convention you are braver than Salmon Rushdie'. I didn't know that a KISS fan knew who Salmon Rushdie was."

KISS & TELL's straightforward verbage has the feel of two New Yawkers telling stories in the local bar over a few brews.

"One of the coolest moments in my life was when my idol, Keith Emerson, asked me to autograph his personal copy of KISS & TELL."

He was born in the city of Yonkers, New York. The middle initials G.G. actually are names - Gerald and Giles. The second born of three talented brothers, Gordon's original ambition was to become an astronaut. "I grew up watching the Apollo missions. Damn, I wanted to go up with them when I was a kid. But in reality I'd probably be screaming like Bugs f#@king Bunny if I was thrown into one of those rockets."

The sky's the limit for Gebert. What's next for this author/musician/entrepreneur?

"I would love to see KISS & Tell made into a movie. It's got all the elements of Private Parts, Leaving Las Vegas, Goodfellas and Spinal Tap all rolled into one."

1.0 out of 5 stars total crap, December 26, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Kiss & Tell More! (Paperback)
Okay, KISS fans. Obviously we are reading this for inside stories and dirt on the group. This is a tabloid book and no one can deny that. Whether you choose to believe anything said about Ace is up to you. The first book was very readable and I enjoyed its content. this book is page after page of internet posts and the authors little giggles and snickerings when applicable. It is a waste of time. the author has blown his point by writing this book. I don't care if Ace is a complete jerk or not. I like his music. 30 pluspages of royalty earnings and bankruptcy papers are 1. not interesting, and 2. complete exploitation by the author. The first book was written to gather lost funds supposedly stolen by Ace when he took half of the corporation Rock Soldiers from the author. Good enough for me. Whatever. If you are going to write another book please put some actual content in it, please? I do not recommend this book from a readers standpoint. A KISS collector would want it, but do not expect to be entertained.

A better title for this book should be "Kiss and Tell - the Feedback". Although there are a few new stories (most of them contributed by guest writers), the bulk of the book is comprised of e-mail that the author got about the first book and descriptions of radio interviews he gave. If you liked the first book and you're a diehard Kiss fan, you'll find the sequel(?)rather enjoyable. But don't even think of buying it without reading the original "Kiss and Tell" first.

whoa!gordon, gordon, gordon. With the "ace/peter incident" you just drove well into the more than I needed to know country. But, as you say,it is your book. However, acefans, none the less, even if you are angry at gordon for this, you must read the part about ace having "to go" at the boxing match.I about died laughing.I'm sorry, but for those of us who have withstood long lines at concerts/events,somebody should give Ace a medal and a few "attaboy"s for that one.
