watch out!,

If you have an Ipod or mini disc, don't get it!
It is duplication protected! I only listen to music on my mini-disc player, and I'm sitting here with a useless cd. I've bought and paid for all three Sahara Hotnights cds. The people who PAY for stuff are being punished now! I had no warning...

CD is protected? Who do they think they are?,

Sahara Hotnights is protecting their music? Give me a break, they should WANT people to spread their music, maybe more people will go to their shows. I'm sorry, I don't care how good a cd is, when you have to use their software to play their music, then F them. This RIAA paranoia about so called music piracy is a joke. There's no call for this. If I can't load my music onto my mp3 player its worthless to me.

A new poppier direction...,
By Get Smart (West Coast) - See all my reviews

Sahara Hotnights goes much poppier on their newest release. I really liked the harder edge they had on "Jennie Bomb" (not that this band is ever "heavy" but Jennie Bomb had more energy to it without a slow track on the bunch). This record starts off pretty good with a pop-punk sound (which i normally hate) that seems to sound better when chicks are doing it than guys. It's catchy and definite sing a long songs with some keyboards that they never used before. The keyboards sound a little bit like an afterthought but arent overly distracting. They just sound like they arent really a part of the song. The last 3 songs get a bit slower in pace, not to the point of being ballads, but they are slower-mid tempo tunes that sort of lost my interest. The first half of the record I would rate a solid 4, the last half about a 2.5 so i'm giving it a 3.5 out of 5. A good record if you liked their previous 2 but i'd recommend "Jennie Bomb (the deluxe version with extra songs)" before getting this one.
