Third time is truly a Charm!,
By
This review is from: Kiss (Audio CD)
Three blessed, young women in the Lord go by the name Trin-i-tee 5:7, and I must say they have only gotten better with time. "The Kiss" is an even blend of ballad and uptempo songs that is a joyful pleasure to listen from beginning to end time after time! Even though there's not the R. Kelly written/produced spiritual ballad as on the first two albums, they more than make up for it with influences from Musiq and Curtis Mayfield to bring the universal appeal that can reach the masses. The album actually starts out at where most albums end, and that's with 1. "Holla (Urban Remix)". I guess the girls wanted to get the album off on an uptempo start with the skills of J. Moss. It's a message of encouragement to endure during times of trials and tribulation. 2. "Lord", is definitely one of my favorites. How many of you listened to Musiq Soulchild's "Love" from his first album, and realized how spiritual it was. Now if somebody could even make it more spiritual by replacing the word "Love" with "Lord" and singing it unto Jesus! That's exactly what Trin-i-tee 5:7 did! Same music and melody, just ever more spiritual with the beautiful, soulful voices of the trio singing it. 3. "With A Kiss" gives the album its title. It's a song that is sung from Jesus' point of view unto Judas. It's a very beautiful song that speaks the truth while showing the ever forgiving heart and love of our Savior Jesus Christ. 4. "Dance Like Sunday" will get the feet moving, and lets you know you can dance everyday like you dance Sunday in church. 5. Interlude 6. "What He Wants" is truly a blessed song! It speaks on being careful about putting your mouth on a child of God. Gossip is rampant in the church, and it expresses the belief that you should strive to please God and not people, because you'll never be able to please everybody. Pay a hater back with love! It's a message of encouragement to be what God wants you to be! 7. "People Get Ready" is the Curtis Mayfield classic. The first part of the song is pretty much a tribute to the classic, but the last part has the unique Trin-i-tee uptempo vibe to it, it'll encourage you to get in line to catch the train and get on board! 8. Interlude 9. "Sixteen Again" is a song about God renewing your spirit and making you young again, but with wisdom that comes with age and experience. It's a song to keep doing what you're doing to please the Lord, and trust God for your divine mate instead of running after him/her. 10. "The One For Me" is a beautiful song that reminds me of something R. Kelly would have wrote for the trio. It's about making the Lord the One in your life that you love and give your everthing to. Unlike with man, you're guaranteed to get an unconditional love in return when you make the Lord the one you love the most. 11. "Rescue Me" speaks about the Lord who will rescue you in time of need and despair. The Lord is our best friend! 12. "Here 4 U" is a slow jam that lets you know that God is always there for U! 13. "I Wish" is truly beautiful where the voices mesh together. They sing about the remorse of having to let someone leave their life, because they don't believe in the Lord like they do. It's a song that stresses not to be unequally yoked. 14. "Greater Than You And Me" is the anthem of the album. It's a song filled with power that lets you know that there is One that is greater than you and me, and we can trust in Him that everything will work out for our good. 15. "All Of My Life" is a ballad that expresses the love we should have for the Lord all of our lives! 16. "Holla" has the flava of the first song, but doesn't have the rap by Ricky Styles (aka J. Moss). I was truly blessed by this album and the cd booklet folds out into a beautiful 14" x14" color poster of Adrian, Angel and Chanelle, who are also know as the angelic trio of gospel divas called Trin-i-tee 5:7! "The Kiss" is pure listening pleaure. God is Love!

impressive,
This review is from: Kiss (Audio CD)
I don't own any other CDs from Trinitee, this is the only one. I really didn't expect it to be this good. It can easily pass as an R&B album. Some songs express their feelings towards guys such as "Sixteen Again", and "All of My Life" which is fine because it sends a message to wait on God to send that special someone. But overall these songs were really nice. They redid Musiq's "Love" and changed the words which was fine. I also liked the way they redid "People Get Ready" but I forgot who was the original artist. "Rescue Me" and "All of My Life" were beautiful. I loved the lyrics and it was very enjoyable. "Holla" and "Dance Like Sunday" are off the hook and are songs you can dance to. Other songs I liked were "Sixteen Again", "Here 4 U" and "Greater Than You and Me", very good songs. If you like contemporary gospel I recommend that you get this. It sounds just like R&B and it's worth listening to.

This review is from: Kiss (Audio CD)
Trin-i-tee 5:7 has done a magnificant job with this album. The trio display their talents and the richness of their voices on this album. This album is gospel with a whole lot of flavor. There is something for everyone on this album, no matter how old you are. Trin-i-tee does Curtis proud by singing a rendition of "People Get Ready." This entire album just wants to make you Hop, Skip, and Jump...Holla!

the MOST AWSOME kiss,

Let me just say that I had a whole month to listen to the Mary Mary "Incredible" cd. But the moment I put this cd in the player, I knew that Mary Mary, gets second fiddle to the girls of Trin-i-tee. This album is very cohesive and very much in the groove mood. While they might not have as many hard hitting dance tracks, they manage to pull off what most christian artist cannot, the art of the spiritual groove. Songs like "Sixteen again" & "What he Wants" make you wanna just chill with someone you love and just get your praise on. The production on this album is much better than the two previous albums. JMOSS, And DARKCHILD's contribution to this project are really astounding. These girls have never sounded better. So if you haven't got this cd, you've better go get it. The inspirational message will fill your soul and the mood is just HOT!

Gospel's very own Destiny's Child!,

Wow, this girls are amazing! They differ from many other gospel girl groups out there. They have a style of a typical R&B girl group but they bringing out the messages of God. The tracks on this album are extremely well done by the girls. The debut video "Holla" I think already proves that! "Holla" has two different parts on this CD. One is the first track the Urban Remix where J.Moss spits a rap and the last track which is just the girls and is a little more slower than the Urban remix. They did excellent remakes on this album of Musiq Soulchild's "Love" turning it into "Lord" and Curtis Mayfield's classic "People Get Ready" where they even break in their own breakdown and hit today's scene with a flavor. The title track "With A Kiss" is extremly romantic and the words just bring the song into reality of how the Last Supper actually went. They hooked up with Darkchild Entertainment where Uncle Freddie produced the dance hit "Dance Like Sunday" which is a message say that when you down, dance like it's Sunday. The girls do some of their writing on the album! They all hook up for "Sixteen Again" which is an R&B flavored song with lyrics about feeling sixteen again with a boyfriend and about how they older looking back on the memories of being sixteen. Angel wrote a track called "The One for Me" which is a song about a girl saying how she wasted most of her life looking for the right one not knowing that He was always with her. It has a Traditional Gospel feel to it. Chanelle wrote on two tracks. One being "I Wish" which most of Trin-I-Tee 5:7's fans enjoy the most from this album. It's a mysterious sounding track about someone missing somebody and other people knowing how special that somebody actually was. "Greater Than You and Me" Chanelle wrote about how this a place (Heaven) which is filled with amazing things. The song has a Rock edge. The song which Adrian wrote on is the BEST song on the WHOLE album! It's called "All of My Life" where she wrote all the lyrics with Big Bert helping out with some music. It's a song about how someone hasn't been living up to the standards they should and that God should guide me cuz we need Him all of our lives. It's a sweet song cuz it's inbetween a Happy and a Sad, it's got a Melancholy feel to it. A happy sadness. The album, of course, ends with the original version "Holla" which is slower than the original. Overall, this album is da BOMB! The album of 2002, besides Kirk Franklin's "Rebirth" and many others. Still it's hot, it's joints are cool, tight tracks, aiight one! God Bless.

I really love this third album by Trin-i-tee, iv been a fan of theirs since they released 'God's Grace', a song that reached me on so many different levels. This album truly is magnificent but i am at a dilemma, i can't choose my favourite song! they are all so good. I love the slow jams so i wasn't disappointed with this album i liked the songs 'Rescue Me' and track 2 'Lord' as well as 'People Get ready'... if you havent got this album, i Suggest you get it right this minute and may the Lord Bless Your Heart. Well Done GIRLS!

In response to someone having a problem with them singing about their husbands...that is by no means "stooping low". God ordained marriage....let's grow up people.

This album captured my attention from the very start. It oozes quality and distinction. Trin-i-tee have made a very clever move into more secular mainstream R&B/Soul(thanks to the influence of PJAM and co.) but it's a move well executed. I can't wait to see the lovely ladies on the secular charts - 'bout time someone cleaned it up with some quality sanctified-music.I particularly enjoyed the Urban remix of 'Holla'(Track1), Dance like it's Sunday(4), I wish (13, brings back memories) and 'All my life'(15). A non believing friend of mine listened to it and immediately took to the title track 'The kiss'. The album's got intelligent vocal arragements and music production - I'm even making repeat purchases! Also recommended: The Rebirth of Kirk Franklin, Mary Mary's 'Incredible!' and Michael W Smith's 'Worship' |
