SUPER 8 mm film is silent, you teen age morons!, November 10, 2001
This review is from: Kiss the Vintage (DVD)
In a age of video people forget that back in the 70's video cameras weighed as much as a house and were B & W for the most part. Bootleg "videos" don't exist of these early KISS shows so all we have are these "Home Movies", taken by early fans. Remember the Zapruder camera which captured Kennedy's assination on film was an 8 mm. This is a record of history, without sound. This DVD is a record of KISSTORY, without music. So my sugestion is to just put on a record, woops sorry, CD, and play this DVD and imagine how it was in the 70's kid. When Rock & Roll was everthing. And home movies were silent. Like you should be!

Half the DVD is SILENT! Apparently, it's mostly bootleg footage that could not be sold with sound since KISS owns the license to the songs. They don't TELL YOU there's no sound, they just take your money and you find out the hard way. There are a couple of cool old TV clips, but it's mostly blurry fan footage from concerts that's silent. SAVE YOUR MONEY!

This is the earliest movie film of KISS known to exist !!!, January 14, 2002
This review is from: Kiss the Vintage (DVD)
And for that fact alone this DVD is worth it's weight in gold. This film is before the band made it big, they were still playing clubs and unknown for the most part so there look is different. Ace still has the frosting he put in his hair in the early-early days. The uniforms are some of the first the band ever had made for them and are classic leather and studs. If you have a big KISS video collection you can't do without the very first film footage of the band. And here it's available on a DVD format...very impressive. The only bad thing about this DVD is that it only shows "half" of the original film. The second half will soon be available on The Vintage "II" DVD. Look for it later this year and complete this earliest film footage of KISS for your collection. Get The Vintage and The Vintage II and have the entire first film footage ever shot of KISS. I know I will..........
