Touching, Suspensful and extremely romantic YA book..., March 11, 2009

Kissed By An Angel is a GREAT read for any fans of romance and mystery. I wasn't aware that this THICK, almost daunting novel was actually three books put into one volume until I got it and read the small notation at the bottom of the book. It was scary at first, but then I realized the font was fairly large and that seemed to take the edge off the disheartening thickness of this book. You could seriously throw it at someone and injure them....BADLY! Book size aside, Kissed By Angel was an EXTREMELY easy and absorbing book to read. It's one of those books that is SO hard to put down that you wind up reading late at night even while you are struggling to keep your eyes open! The book centers on Ivy. She has just moved into town with her mother and 8 year old brother, Phillip after her mother becomes engaged to one of the town's wealthiest and most noteable patrons. Ivy soon finds herself living in a giant home with her new family, which includes her privileged new-stepbrother, Gregory. Ivy is a somewhat spiritual character, with a strong belief system pitted on guardian angels watching over her and the ones she loves. She has a collection of Angel statues in her room, with the two most special of them being her Water Angel, and another angel she calls Tony. At times, Ivy's "angel comments" were a little weird and that would be my biggest fault with the book and ultimately the reason why I denoted one star off my review rating. I just have a hard time picturing a NORMAL teenage girl thinking things like, "WATER ANGEL, PLEASE HELP ME!" which made it a little too melodramatic and weird at times. But, once you get past that specific little quirk of our main-character, everything is smooth sailing! Things really get moving when Tristan, the school's star-athlete/swim meet champion takes interest in Ivy. Tristan is a genuinely NICE guy. He may be the school's heart-throb, but he is super kind, caring and relatable character for people to read about. And, surely, the young girls are going to LOVE him for his good looks and romantic ways with Ivy. When Tristan is killed in a car accident that Ivy survives, he remains on earth. At first he thinks he is a ghost, but when a helpful, yet fairly annoying deceased actress named Lacey shows up, she lets Tristan know the truth. That he, like herself, is an angel. He must remain on earth until he completes his Mission...which is unknown to him. He has to figure out the reason he remains on earth and what his mission is. He struggles with finding a way to communicate with his beloved Ivy and yearns to hold her in his arms once again. But, things quickly get moving in the suspense genre when Tristan realizes that the car crash that killed him wasn't an accident, but was a planned murder! This was a REALLY fun, easy to read, completely romantic story. I loved every second of it and I can't help but compare the flow of it to the Twilight series-although Twilight did feel a little more adult to me-and would TOTALLY recommend it to any fans of that series or any books that are romantic, suspenseful and have a great plot. This was a pleasure to read. I loved it!

Books One, Two, and Three of the Kissed By an Angel Series, January 9, 2009
This review is from: Kissed by an Angel: Kissed by an Angel; The Power of Love; Soulmates (Paperback)
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
Originally published separately over a decade ago, this trilogy is being re-released in one complete book and what a book it is. The three books are KISSED BY AN ANGEL, THE POWER OF LOVE, SOULMATES. In KISSED BY AN ANGEL, the very opening of the book covers the accident which Tristan dies. It also says this on the back cover, so it's no secret. It's right after that the author goes back and begins the story with Ivy meeting Tristan. It's the typical first love story. I was surprised out how many characters are introduced and not once did I have difficulty keeping them straight. When this first book ends, it's way too abrupt. If I had not had the second book, I would have been steam rolling mad. I mean, there is no ending. It cuts off. THE POWER OF LOVE is where Tristan tries to reconnect with Ivy. Because of her loss, she no longer believes in angels. Why should she? They didn't protect her true love. Tristan is now an angel with a mission. He's not alone though. He has an angel helping him too, but this angel isn't exactly angelic. He becomes aware that the accident was no accident at all. The only problem is who was the target? This love story quickly turns into a mystery, full of suspense. At the end of this book, the reader is again left hanging. Is Ivy going to live or die? In SOULMATES, we discover she is in fact going to live, but everyone, including Ivy thinks she tried to commit suicide by walking in front of a moving train. As far as the world is concerned, her younger brother saved her. He did, but with the help of Tristan. She will finally open her heart enough to believe once again in angels, thus connecting again with Tristan. In this book, not all the characters will walk away. So will and some will die. The story will have a happy ending, just not the one Ivy had hoped for. This was a thoroughly enjoyable read. There were some not so believable parts, but I dearly loved this book. Not since the Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series have I been pulled in with such emotion.

Dangerously Good!, March 25, 2009
This review is from: Kissed by an Angel: Kissed by an Angel; The Power of Love; Soulmates (Paperback)
Artistically composed to keep you in suspense page after page. Very clever to have all three books in one; this made it so convenient to not miss a scene. I tensed up everytime the angel Tristan tried to manifest his presence....as if he needed my help! This book is about love, deceit, greed, jealousy, choices, betrayal, danger, action, and so much more! It leaves you aching throughout and then towards the end, satisfaction!!!
