I haven't been able to finish the book yet. Funny thing I've finished another since I've been reading this one. I thought it was only me at first because the first reviews were so high. The problem I'm having is that the conversations seem so repetitious. Quite frankly Kelly is working my nerves with the I want you, but I don't thing she has going on. I'm like you're...

This review is from: Kissed by a Carrington (Kimani Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
Linda Hudson-Smith writes a wonderful, well developed and very enchanting love story complete with all the fixin's in Texas size portions to make and break relationships, i.e. love, trust, jealousy, dysfunctional families, deceitful friends, and awesome romance. Houston Carrington and Kelly Charleston discovers that love covers a multitude of sins and without understanding and forgiveness, love intended can fade away. Using the exhilarating relationships of Austin and Ashleigh, as well as his parents, strengthens the storyline and makes the love real. It is that same love that shakes the foundation of Houston's "no strings attached and never believing in the happily ever after for him." Kelly, not being one to give up easily, never waivers from the love she wants and desires most with Houston Carrington. Ms. Linda Hudson-Smith's Carrington series is full of love/hate relationships stemming from childhood abuses and friendships; however, it is the strong chemistry between the main and several supporting characters that strengthens and reveals that love "forever" is attainable. I highly recommend this novel!

5.0 out of 5 stars Sizzling, February 12, 2010

This review is from: Kissed by a Carrington (Kimani Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
Kissed By A Carrington is a long awaited read. I have read the other stories on the Carrington triplets, Austin, Houston and Dallas, all professional sports heroes, and I have enjoyed each one. It has been a long time coming, but well worth the wait. Forbidden Fantasy inside Love In Bloom was the first anthology and then came Fantasy Fufilled inside the Give Love holiday anthology. I didn't think another story would be written on the Carringtons, yet I kept hoping. This full-length title brings us up to date on the Carringtons and has surpassed all my expectations. This story features heavily on the last of the triplets to be born, footloose and fancy-free Houston Carrington and his love interest, Kelly Charleston, M.D. Houston has been the confirmed bachelor of the three men, but this time the hunter is in real danger of getting caught by the prey.

I highly recommned this story.

1.0 out of 5 stars It's like a train wreck..., April 12, 2010

I think I read the first book a couple of years ago, so I thought I would give this one a try. It is horrible. I've had my Kindle for 2 months and this is the 20th book I've read, and it is the worst. I keep going back to it, to see if it gets any better and it doesn't. Every other sentence is a catch phrase. They finally made love and I had to laugh out loud at some of the dialogue. "I'm there. I arrived. I'm on top of the mountain looking down. Wow! The sensations coursing through me are amazing." No, Wow, did you just write that....who says that? It's like writing 101. Not only should the author be embarrassed, but the editor, and publisher. Whew I'm so glad I got that off my chest.

The problem I'm having is that the conversations seem so repetitious. Quite frankly Kelly is working my nerves with the I want you, but I don't thing she has going on. I'm like you're grown, make up your mind. I don't want to keep hearing what careers the guys have. The first time was enough. I don't want them to go back and forth so many times about the same thing. I love details, but sometimes too many is just that: too many.

2.0 out of 5 stars The dialogue was too "perfect", March 5, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Kissed by a Carrington (Kimani Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
I didn't like this at all. The dialogue was too perfect to be believable. I am all for having an extensive vocabulary and not reverting to slang but this was crazy. "I wanted to stay away from a caustic situation"... Who speaks like that? The author spent too much time describing the meals and the decor and detailing how expensive the clothes and furniture were it got to be a bit ridiculous. If I had to read about Houston's "luxurious" home one more time I would have screamed. I finished the book because I paid for it not because I enjoyed it. I skipped several pages because they were filled with a bunch of descriptions about scrumptious food and decadent this and tender that. To top it all off, the scene where Dallas told his brothers that he would cover the cost of the extra $100 cost for the cabin upgrades if they were upset about it was just dumb. These brothers just had meetings about spending thousands on diamonds and would actually be upset about 100 dollars. Again, too perfect to be remotely believable. Finally, what woman in her right mind would allow a man to stay with her overnight after her disrespected someone she supposedly loves and would let this fool stay with her after breaking into her home. I love romance and the happily ever after but this was so outside of reality it was funny.

I only read the first few pages because this book was so bad. I have yet to read a decent book by this author. Please don't waste your money.

1.0 out of 5 stars Skip It!, March 30, 2010

I really wanted to like this book and actually liked it at the beginning. However, very quickly, Kelly and Houston got on my nerves. After a while, i could not stand any of the characters: the brothers, their wives/girlfriends, or the parents. The book was so bad that I kept thinking maybe this was the author's first book. Everything the 1 and 2-star reviewers said is true. Just skip this.

4.0 out of 5 stars Kissed By a Carrington - Sweet Story, February 28, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Kissed by a Carrington (Kimani Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
I enjoyed this story. The chemistry between Houston and Kelly was honest, candid and hot. The story centers around Houston a pro-basketball star who prided himself on being single and not going out on second dates. While Houston was not a womanizer he did not want to settle down. He made that clear to Kelly on their first date. Kelly, a beautiful doctor was a force to be reckoned with. She was upfront with Houston on her needs and desires. He could take or leave it. She did not mind making the first move and took chances with her heart. It was up to Houston to take care of her heart. Houston's brothers (he is a triplet) are key to this story and make you want to read more of this family. The story was well written and just the right pace to keep you eagerly awaiting the next page. I look forward to the next story in this series.

Loved it! Loved it! Loved it! Houston's and Kelly's love story was the bomb! It was also good to read and get an update on the other two brother's Dallas and Austin. It has been a minute but it was more than worth the wait! Now I hope the next book will be about Lanier and Dallas. Their story be will just as explosive because of Lanier's family history.
