5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Connie Collection!, March 10, 2001
By
This review is from: Kissin', Twistin', Goin Where The Boys Are (Audio CD)
Connie Francis recorded voluminously in the 1960's, and this 5-disc set covers the years of 1960-1962. As well as all the hits from this time there are some great "forgotten" treasures, alternate takes, and false starts. Connie's tremendous vocal talent shines through in every song, and she certainly ranks with some of her comtemporaries (Judy Garland and Patsy Cline) as one of the great musical interpreters of our time. This is an investment you wont regret!

4.0 out of 5 stars MISSING AN ESSENTIAL, April 12, 2004
This review is from: Kissin', Twistin', Goin Where The Boys Are (Audio CD)
WHILE THIS MAY BE A GREAT COMPILATION IT IS MISSING HER BEAUTIFUL RENDITION OF "CAROLINA MOON" AND ISTEAD FEATURES STUFF LIKE "ON TOP OF OLD SMOKEY". OTHERWISE I WOULD HAVE GIVEN IT 5 STARS. I THINK THERE IS ANOTHER BOXED SET WHICH IS BETTER.CONNIE FRANCIS WAS A GREAT SINGER OF THE 50'S AND 60'S AND IF YOU'VE NEVER HEARD "CAROLINA MOON" YOU WON'T MISS IT.I JUST HAPPEN TO LIKE IT!!IN 1958 AMERICAN BANDSTAND RATED HER THE BEST FEMALE VOCALIST ALONG WITH ELVIS AS BEST MALE.ANNETTE AND FABIAN RECEIVED THE MOST PROMISING.IT'S STILL VERY MUCH WORTH BUYING!

5.0 out of 5 stars Definitely a keeper!!, September 16, 2005
By
This is a wonderful catalog of music from one of the best singers this country has ever produced. Her talents are astounding; she can go in every direction--tearful ballads, rock 'n roll romps, country torch songs, and international favorites. She sings in seventeen languages, and you'll want to hear every one. I simply love Connie Francis, and this is by far the most comprehensive and satisfying box set available. Get one for yourself!!
