Kissing!, December 14, 2011
This review is from: Kissing Behind the Bathhouse (Kindle Edition)
What a stirring and clever novel! Kissing Behind the Bathhouse may be a gay romance, but it is also a work of literature. It is funny and charming, with fresh and original language, and interesting characters. The plot twists in dazzling ways, while shunning cliché or allegory, yet it is easy to understand and follow.
Yes, there is intense suffering at the heart of this clever novel, but in the end love does prevail over hatred and cruelty. Since Kissing Behind the Bathhouse is a literary romance, the novel is laced with allusions and symbolism, but they are far from off-putting. No one needs to get the allusions to follow the plot or identify with the characters.
Kissing Behind the Bathhouse is intelligently written, charming, funny, clever, and poignant.
Loved it, loved it!
