more than what it seems,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Kissing Garden (Charnwood Large Print Library Series) (Hardcover)
this bbok is one of the better romance stories i have read for a while. The book begins at the end of WW1 with george coming home from the war and metting his finacee amelia at the train station from there it moves on to how the war effected george and their marriage. The story has intrigue and mystery in it as well as a magical aspect which is explined throughout the book but is not completely done so. i was left wondering a little what was happening until the end when everything seems to fall into place. I have had this book for a while and picked it up to read as i had nothing else to read. I reccomemnd this book to anyone who likes a true to life story with just a hint of magic.

Tries too hard to be too many things,
This review is from: The Kissing Garden (Hardcover)
Based on the jacket cover, I thought the book would be some sort of light English romance. It was. But it was also science fiction/fantasy, historical fiction and a spy thriller. What!?!? Yes, there were some weird jolts between "oh, let's not get into another war" -- "Drop another crystal and magick them" -- "He drove wildly, trying to escape his pursuer..." that seemed to me like a schizophrenic wrote the book. It was, however, entertaining and the last few chapters sort of put things into place.
