Book Description

July 1997
What most golfers want is a simple and easy way to learn to play golf. A method so simple that anyone can become a golfer. So easy that everyone will enjoy learning how to golf. Included in the book are skill checklists, indoor and outdoor practice drills, training exercises, and troubleshooting tips that are easy to follow, fun to complete, and work.

Editorial Reviews

From the Author

I drew on my experience as an educational psychologist and golf instructor to develop a program that can be completed quickly and is based on sound instructional principles. The various KISSing Golf training exercises are integrated into a self-paced instructional program that can readily be used by golfers of different ages and athletic abilities.

Learning, in any form, should be enjoyable. Too often, individuals are so focused on results that the pleasure of learning is lost. I have created a program that is fun to complete and a book that is enjoyable to read. After all, golf is just a game and as a game it should be pleasurable.

Does the KISSing Golf method work? Yes! To make sure this program lives up to its promises--simple, easy, and fun--the KISSing Golf method has been thoroughly evaluated. Novice golfers have tried the instructional program and I used their feedback to refine and improve the program. This field testing assures that the KISSing Golf method works.

5.0 out of 5 stars THE EPITOME OF AN INSTRUCTIONAL BOOK., May 12, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Kissing Golf: The Keep It Simple (Stupid) Instructional Method (Paperback)
I'VE READ THIS BOOK AND I THOUROUGHLY ENJOYED IT. ALTHOUGH I AM AN EXPERIENCED GOLFER, THE BOOK WAS NOT TOO BASIC FOR AN ADVANCED GOLFER TO ENJOY. SEVERAL DRILLS STILL ARE IN MY PRACTICE REGIMEN WHEN I AM IN A SLUMP.

PERHAPS THE BEST PART ABOUT THE BOOK IS THAT IS WHAT THE TITLE EXPLAINS...SIMPLE.

SHATZ HAS CREATED AN INSTRUCTIONAL BOOK WITH HUMOR , SKILLS, AND ETTIQUITE. WHAT MORE COULD YOU WANT. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK .

4.0 out of 5 stars excellent book for beginners, April 1, 2002

This review is from: Kissing Golf: The Keep It Simple (Stupid) Instructional Method (Paperback)
I am not a fan of golf instruction books, but this one is a winner. Clever, creative and dare I say, witty. Dr. Shatz could easily create a series of these books using his laid back approach. What a treat to find a college professor with a common mans touch. He may have a PhD in Psychology, but Dr. Shatz could easily have a doctorate in golf. A book that will hit home with Tiger wannabees from Boston to San Francisco...especially San Francisco given Dr. Shatz's athletic and masculine charm.
