(4.5 Stars) An Excellent Read!, May 10, 2009
This review is from: Kissing The Man Next Door (Kimani Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
McKenzie Reese is co-owner of a salon with her best friend, she sings jazz at a club every other Saturday, and her new neighbor is everything she could ask for in a man. Ian Kelly is the DJ of a jazz radio station, he is forty and has never been married, and his new neighbor is making him feel and want things that he never had before. There is just one little problem...McKenzie has a fifteen-year-old son that has recently decided to move to California to live with his father and stepmother. Ian has never really thought about having kids, and he is enjoying the time he is spending with McKenzie. When McKenzie's son calls and says he wants to come home, everything could change.
Kissing The Man Next Door is an excellent read by Devon Vaughn Archer. The relationship between the main characters is very realistic and relatable. The characters are also very well developed which helps to make the overall story more enjoyable. Vaughn Archer also has a laid back writing style that flows and makes for an easy read.

The is something said about loved thy neighbor and for Mackenzie Reese and Ian Kelley that is what happen.
Mackenzie is a 37 yrs old woman who is experience freedom for the fist time in a long time. Divorcee who lives in Cheri Village, Vermont where she is part owner of a salon and on the side she is a Jazz singer who performs on the weekend. Mackenzie has a 15 yrs old son who decided he wanted to go and live with his father in CA. In the beginning Mackenzie was feeling lonely and thought that she was a bad mother when she decided he wanted to live with his father.
Ian Kelly is the DJ and have just move in next door to Mackenzie. Ian is 40 yrs old who is not in a hurry to be a married or a father. Mackenzie doing the neighboring thing by going over to introduce herself and welcome Ian to the neighbor suddenly starts having these thoughts about Ian. If he is married, have children the norm, but boy oh boy when she meet him for the first time lawd have mercy.
Ian is over 6'feet, bald and FINE...............Ian is just as attracted to his neighbor and over the course of the week they begin to get to know each other by playing basketball.
Mackenzie has some doubt about Ian because she has been burn not once but twice so she is a little caution. When Mackenzie & Ian starting spending time together Ian finds out that Mackenzie has a son and he is living with his father in CA so in Ian mind all is okay. Then begin to get know each other Mackenzie like being able to come and go as she please and really enjoy life. With Ian Mackenzie is doing thing she haven't done before and their love life is off the chain they can't get enough of each other. All is going well until Ryan (the son) decided he wants to come home because he is not getting along with step mom.
Now the question is how do Ian feel about that because once Ryan come home and a decision is made whether or not he will be able to stay Ian has some decision do make. Do he want to keep seeing Mackenzie can they work through this.......well you will have to read the book and let me tell you this is my favorite so far.
I know you will enjoy the trail & tribulation Ian & Mackenzie.

Predictable but decent read..., March 25, 2010

This was good novel if you're in for pure passion and romance. I personally prefer more drama to go along with the romance, but this was still a sweet story.
