Pricey but worth it!, March 14, 2002
This review is from: Kisstory: 440 Pages from the Bands Own Private Collection (Hardcover)
[Money] is a bit much for a book, but this is a limited edition and mine was signed by the band (1995 line-up). Great historical info and pictures in this book, and you have to appreciate the amount of work that went into assembling all this stuff for the book (though the binding has given many owners some problems). Superior to its follow-up KISSTORY II. This book is perhaps better as a collectible than as a gloves-off historical document of the band, but there is a lot in this book to like, even if Gene and Paul do pull some punches about their own troubled and storied career. Want some more behind-the-scenes stories of the band? Check out the book KISS AND SELL by C.K. Lendt, available at this website and many others. Lendt's book is a bit more revealing of the ugly business aspects of the band's history, and significantly cheaper.

Great book!, December 17, 2000
This review is from: Kisstory: 440 Pages from the Bands Own Private Collection (Hardcover)
I thought this was worth the money considering it's size, content, and the fact that it's signed. Tons of great rare pics. The comic section is pure filler though. I'd give it 5 stars but can only give it 4 due to the comics and also to the fact that it's poorly bound. The cover, pages, slip case, etc. are all of high quality, but I've seen so many of these that are falling apart at the seams. If you buy one, read it carefully. Don't open it too far, and certainly don't let your clumsy, careless friends get their mits on it! It's a good read too if you don't mind the fact that it's The World According To Gene & Paul.
