3.0 out of 5 stars Interesting Book
As a reader it was really interesting to read the book. As a Muslim there is only one contradiction which makes me doubt the Bahai Faith. Prophet Muhammad is a great prophet for both the Bahais and Muslims. Prophet Muhammads words are upholded by the Bahai as well. Prophet Muhammad said two things. Jesus is a Prophet like Moses, and there shall be no other Prophet...

5.0 out of 5 stars Essential Book for Study of Baha'i Faith, January 22, 2000

This review is from: Kitab-I-Iqan, Book of Certitude (Hardcover)
This book, written by the Founder of the Baha'i Faith, Baha'u'llah, is his cheif theological work in which he describes his teaching on the essential unity of religion. It was written in answer to questions put to him on various aspects of prophecy. The book demonstrates the Baha'i teaching on the reconcilation of Jewish, Christian and Muslim scriptures and by implication, the other major religions of the world. Translated by Shoghi Effendi, the great grandson of Baha'u'llah and the Guardian of the Baha'i Faith from 1912 to 1957, it is a masterpiece of English prose. It flows with a kind of poetic style that is hard to describe. Any student of comparative religion will find this book essential in a study of comparative religion or a complete study of the Baha'i teachings. The book is divided into two parts, both of which are not too long but which contain many theological and philosophical issues. It is the cheif theological work of Baha'u'llah, although when viewed relation to his other many writings, gives even more insight into them. Included are many interpreations of Old and New Testament verses, Muslim scripture and tradtions, and concepts common in all sacred texts. While the Book is sacred to members of the Baha'i Faith and provides insight into their teachings, it also is thought provoking for members of many religions can be easily enjoyed by them. I highly recommend as insightful and pleasurable reading.

A mind-blowing book to read. The Book of Certitude examines the history of Judaism, Christianity, Islam, and the station of Messiahhood in the most eloquent and forthright language. Surely a treat and a must read for the spiritual seeker.

This review is from: Kitab-I-Iqan, Book of Certitude (Hardcover)
The Book of Certitude gives an amazing insight into various religions matters that have baffled scholars for centuries. Coming from a Christian background, this book not only made me appreciate Islam and the Jewish faith more but I became a better Christian. I now not only love Jesus more but Moses, Muhummad and especially Bahaullah. The Bahai Faith is what the world has been waiting for.

4.0 out of 5 stars Mystical outpouring, April 16, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Kitab-I-Iqan, Book of Certitude (Hardcover)
Beware of reviews from people who consider Bahai to be heresy. The Book of Certitude is a triumph as a volume of literate, intelligent, mystical worship. The unfortunate side, as with most torrential floods of worshipful mysticism, lies in the organization of the work. I recommend it, but to make it yours I think you really need to sit and re-organize it for yourself.

5.0 out of 5 stars SHATTERING OF AN OSSEFIED WORLD VIEW, April 11, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Kitab-I-Iqan, Book of Certitude (Hardcover)
Subtly and deftly opens up Islam to a new Sharia and offers a model for the reconciliation of all spiritual traditions. A subversive and revolutionary book. Any one who SEES the breathing of new life into the dead body of tradition--- the poetic turning upside-down and inside-out of an ossefied world view---cannot but recognize the Christ spirit in these words. It may not be, however, an easy read for the completely uninitiated. For a more folksy approach to the Baha'i spiritual tradion, I recommend 'The Wisdom of the Master: The Spiritual Teachings of Abdu'l-Baha.'

3.0 out of 5 stars Interesting Book, November 22, 1999
This review is from: Kitab-I-Iqan, Book of Certitude (Hardcover)
As a reader it was really interesting to read the book. As a Muslim there is only one contradiction which makes me doubt the Bahai Faith. Prophet Muhammad is a great prophet for both the Bahais and Muslims. Prophet Muhammads words are upholded by the Bahai as well. Prophet Muhammad said two things. Jesus is a Prophet like Moses, and there shall be no other Prophet after Muhammad. No the other Prophet. Only Jesus will return. The book is written nicely and really shows the Bahai faith in a modest manner. However I bear witness that there is no other god but Allah, and Muhammad is his last messenger.
