3.0 out of 5 stars Easy to install and remove
Some of the early reviews stated that the mount wasn't very stable. The mount does have some movement when it's mounted but this may be by design as a form of force absorption. At no point did I feel like the tablet would fall out and crash to the ground. The mount is easy to install and remove when needed.

If your kitchen has cabinets and you have a tablet that can't find its proper place in the kitchen, Belkin's add-on will allow you to securely place it under the cabinet. It worked well for me.

POSITIVES

+ It was very easy to install. You simply attach the 2 parts - they snap in - and you're done. Our 14 yr. old did it in about 2 minutes all by himself.

+ Easy to mount under a cabinet or under a shelf. There is a knob that allows you to tighten the grip so that the tablet will be safe.

+ Gentle to the cabinet. All physical contact with the cabinet's wood is with rubberized grips. Scratches are out of the question, all other damage is not likely.

+ You can still open/close the cabinet door.

+ Slider tablet grip locks into position, ensuring that the tablet is safely attached.

+ Size doesn't matter much. Thanks to the slider tablet grip, this worked well with an Android 10.1", an iPad and an HP Touchpad.

+ Easy to get the tablet in/out by simply squeezing the grip's lock buttons.

NEGATIVES

- This will work best with slab-like cabinet bottoms/shelves. If there is some thinner plywood behind the 'front', it will still attach but you may not be able to tighten it to a perfect grip.

- It is possible to get some vibrations if the grip is not sufficiently tight.

MY RATING

Belkin's product delivers what it promises. It is now possible to have your tablet hanging under a cabinet. Overall, the F5L100tt (model number) met and slightly exceeded my expectations.

I've only used the Kindle Fire in this Belkin Mount the size is adjustable so I would assume larger tablets like the iPad would also work. As a side note the Kindle Fire only works in landscape in the mount. The power button at the bottom of the Fire makes it impossible to mount in portrait without toggling the power.

I've enjoyed the mount. I've used it functionally to pull up recipes while cooking and for entertainment by watch a movie while in the kitchen.

5.0 out of 5 stars Extremely delighted, even holds iPad 2 while in protective case. Improved design.., December 3, 2011

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
Before writing this review I checked out the 1 star reviews, primarily written when the Belkin Under Cabinet Mounts for the iPad and Tablets were new to the market. Based on those reviews, there seems to have been an early design issue which has been corrected. ...and kudos to the manufacturer for reading and responding to reviewers...as indicated by comments under reviews.

The mount works perfectly for me, greatly increasing the usefulness of my iPad tablet. It even accommodates the protective case! I'm impressed. I do have cabinets without totally flat bottoms, so I simply tighten the grip as needed. It remains securely in place, even when my disposal is running and sending out some vibrations.

I use the Belkin under cabinet mount mostly in the kitchen, whether watching a cooking video online, searching for a recipe and then preparing it or simply watching a news channel -at eye level- in between kitchen chores or while eating. This product has allowed me to get so much more pleasure and use from my iPad as I go through my usual routine.

Here are the major features I like:

1. The adjustable clamp. Works with a range of tablets, including an iPad 2 with case,

2. Goes up quickly, removes quickly without tools. Desn't mar cabinets.

3. Puts content at convenient eye level.

4. Ideal solution for hands-free use...or minimum need to touch screen since it is secured in place and requires little to no adjustment.

5. Makes it so much easier to use an iPad 2 or other tablet as a portable entertainment center. Having that eye level view makes things so convenient!

Know someone with a tablet? This would be a great gift, unlike so many other accessories that aren't as useful.

3.0 out of 5 stars Close but no cigar as is. Required cabinet mod to work around, December 1, 2011

This review is from: Kitchen Cabinet Mount for iPad 2 (Personal Computers)
As others have mentioned, the concept is solid, but execution comes up short. There was not enough length in the internal tightening screw to come to solid attachment to the cabinet. To remedy, I attached a somewhat compressible block on the underside of the cabinet. I am still not satisfied with and may permanently mount it to the underside by drilling and small wing nuts.

4.0 out of 5 stars very good, January 31, 2012
This review is from: Kitchen Cabinet Mount for iPad 2 (Personal Computers)
It holds my Xoom in a belkin case with no problem. It won't hurt your cabinets but if you have cheap cabinets like our apartment its hard to get a tight grip with no vibrations when touching, but the tablet is still secure and I never expect to fall but I wanna warn you can get some wiggle.

5.0 out of 5 stars Need thick cabinets, works great though, January 25, 2012
This review is from: Kitchen Cabinet Mount for iPad 2 (Personal Computers)
I received this as a present, and was initially concerned because other reviews tell you that you need super thick cabinets for this to work. While this is true, you can also just put a book or something else thick inside your cabinet where this is going to be mounted. Since it just uses pressure to stay in place, you wouldn't have to worry about your book. Other than that, this is a great product and I am going to get a ton of use out of it both in the Kitchen and Bathroom (where I like to have TV shows playing on my iPad while I get dressed). Awesome, awesome product.

3.0 out of 5 stars Works Well With A Few Issues, January 17, 2012
This review is from: Kitchen Cabinet Mount for iPad 2 (Personal Computers)
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
Since I was given one of these by the company to try out and review, I have actually been using it a lot. I played with it a little in the kitchen, but then I realized that hanging it on my desk would be a lot more interesting. My desk is designed with a shelf that goes above the monitor, so putting the cabinet mount on there actually results in being able to put my phone, an ereader, or a tablet into the mount and have it sitting at approximately eye level.

As much as it's been useful, I have some concerns about it. As other people have mentioned, it doesn't really hold things very well, so you could conceivably bump your tablet out of it sideways. It also rocks and wiggles easily, so extended typing wouldn't be very practical (typing at that angle isn't terribly practical anyway, I suppose.) Also, some parts feel fine and some parts feel a bit flimsy. A big part of the reason I found a place to just leave mine up is that I thought I'd be much less likely to break it if it could just stay put.

As a type of item, I feel that this has the potential to be very useful. I just don't think that the build quality quite holds up to the kind of prices they want to charge right now.

1.0 out of 5 stars Belkin Kitchen Cabinet Mount for ipad, January 2, 2012
This review is from: Kitchen Cabinet Mount for iPad 2 (Personal Computers)
I am afraid this just doesnt fit to the cabinet securely. The tightening knob is very poor quality and doesnt fix the hinge firmly. I returned the first one I bought as I assumed I had over tightened it or that it was faulty but the second is just the same. perhaps if the wooden base of your cabinet is over 4 cm thick it will grip but mine is about 2 cm and it wont even sit firmly .I wouldnt dare put an ipad on it so I am very disappointed ...don't bother

2.0 out of 5 stars Great idea, poor execution..., December 29, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Kitchen Cabinet Mount for iPad 2 (Personal Computers)
This could have been a wonderful product, however it's is flawed in a very simple way in that the brackets that are supposed to hold the tablet (in my case an iPad) are not secure. I cannot tell if the problem is a design flaw or a defective product, but basically the bracket/clamp provides no pressure, the device can simply be removed by sliding it side ways which means if it gets bumped from the side then the tablet might wind up on the floor. Frankly I expect more from Belkin. At the moment I'm considering gluing some foam in the top and bottom so that it'll work better :(

4.0 out of 5 stars Very nice device - works as advertised, December 22, 2011

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
Ever since I bought my IPad, I've wanted an under-cabinet mount. I found some dubious mounts from Chinese sellers on the big auction site, and actually ordered one. It cost more than twenty bucks and it didn't even last through the installation (which was stupidly complicated for such a simple piece of equipment.

I was surprised and delighted when I found the new Belkin Under Cabinet Mount for iPad and Tablets. It was a name-brand product, priced right, and nice looking--so I went ahead got it.

To put it simply, it is beautifully simple--easy to assemble (two pieces, broken down for packaging and shipping), easy to install, easy to install, and easy to use. Once I got the Belkin Under Cabinet Mount for iPad and Tablets in place, it was a 5-second process to get my IPad securely mounted.

From a customer perspective, that's a killer value proposition.
