It's a smart design, because the four stout legs counterbalance each other better than a support ring often does, and the holder doesn't scoot around the countertop during high-speed mixing. Measuring 8-3/8 inches across the upper rim and 6-1/4 inches across the bottom, this holder works best with bowls that have some pitch to their sides. Because the holder can manage a bowl in almost any position, the accessory works well for mixing by hand or with an electric hand-mixer.
