5.0 out of 5 stars Get these mitts!
These things do everything as advertised. They provide a great non-slip grip and protect against even the hottest pizza stone coming out of your 500º oven. They clean up easy too - I just rinse them off with soapy water. And they lie as flat as a pancake when I'm not wearing them so I didn't even have to throw out any of my wife's stained old cotton mitts to make room...

3.0 out of 5 stars awkward.
These are much too large. On the plus side they can withstand hot temperatures. But, because of the material and size, they tend to slip off my hands making it hard to grip anything.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tired of getting burned?, August 9, 2006

These oven mitts are great. I've had them for over a year now. I was tired of getting burned when taking things in and out of the oven. Since they are extra long you have less chance of burning your arms. They also make it easier to grab things in the oven since the material is thinner and material "grippier." Another advantage of the material is that you don't have the big issue of the fabric getting wet--there's nothing like having a moist cloth oven mitt and the heat permeating to your skin--ouch!!!!!!!! They are very easy to clean too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great oven mitts!, December 25, 2005

I received these as a Christmas gift and am very pleased with them. They are very thin so it makes gripping things out of the oven a lot easier than with thick mitts - AND they'll take up less room in your drawer. Highly recommend - worth the extra money! UPDATE: I've now had these mitts for 3 years and they are in great shape, have not had to replace - no burn marks, rips, tears - nothing. Still as good as new!

1.0 out of 5 stars Pass, July 3, 2008

The mitts are..., but the construction quality is poor, the stitching started to undo itself. Also, cannot hold something that is hot for a long time, heat travels through the layers in the mitts to your hands.

3.0 out of 5 stars Protective but cumbersome, January 7, 2008

I bought these for my wife since she was tired of getting burned when using the "pretty" mitts that don't protect very well. The gloves are very effective at preventing burns, but are rather cumbersome for a smaller hand. My wife has an average size woman's hand, and at that has well over an inch of glove at the tips of her fingers. This makes it cumbersome when trying to grab items like cookie sheets from the oven. You don't burn yourself, but you may risk dropping the cookie sheet.
