I have been looking for a way to make home canned pie filling - ready to pour into a pie shell and bake. Clear Jel is the answer for me. This product is easy to use and the results are great. I made several quarts of apple pie filling and blueberry pie filling and I am extremely pleased with the results. The thickening agent in this product gives you a smooth, clear gel that does not separate in the pie. I cannot wait until next year when I can prepare various other pie fillings and have them ready to make a fresh, homemade pie anytime of the year.

I have used Clear Jel to make canned blueberry pie filling and canned strawberry rhubarb pie filling. Both turned out very well. I followed the blueberry pie filling recipe provided in the product packaging and was initially skeptical because the sugar/water/Clear Jel mixture was VERY thick (think glue), but tonight I made a pie with a jar that didn't seal and it was delicious, not too thick as I had feared. The whole family gave it rave reviews. I have found that a one pound package of Clear Jel makes 12 quarts of canned filling. I have already used 2 bags and need to order more.

It worked great in the vegan lemon meringue pie I used it for. I wish it was sold in a smaller quantity.

Once you use this product you sill never consider using anything else. I love it and it works great for making apple pie filling and i have lots of apples each year.

this starch is easy to use and the batches of canned peach pie filling were beautiful. will get more next year.

I used clear jel to can peach pie filling and blueberry pie filling. It worked so well! The finished product looks so good. It is much better than just using corn starch. It was shipped to my home very quickly too! I would definitely recommend this product and will be purchasing more soon...apples should be coming in soon!

I have always wanted to try canning cherry pie filling. This year I decided I was going to really make it. I had thought I could just use the Surejel products from the local stores canning section until I started reading online that only ClearJel, a modified cornstarch would make successful pies. I purchased 1 lb, picked some pie cherries and following the instructions made the best tasting pie I have ever made, much better texture and flavor than the cans of pie filling I have always bought from the store for cherry pie. I started canning and found the product to work so incredibly well on batches that I ordered another 5lb bag and continued canning. I now have my shelves lined with pie filling and love this product. I would recommend it to anyone. I only wish that it was available at the local grocers, but planning ahead, I received the product quickly shipped to my door.

Clear jel worked wonderfully, just as expected. I enjoy canning and I'm looking forward to having the opportunity to use clear jel again.

I purchased this to make blueberry pie filling. It was a good year for wild blueberries and I made pints of blueberry pie filling with it and they turned out fabulous. Follow the directions and it is better than canned pie filling. Excellent on waffles!

Haven't tasted the pie filling I made with the clear jell, but it looks great in the jars lined up in the basement. I gave away 4 jars of the peach pie filling I made and havent heard any thing negative.
I am still cleaning up the garden but looking forward to a peach pie around Christmas. Will make apple pie filling in the next 2 weeks. I used to use cornstarch, but it got thick and flour looking in the jars and am looking forward to clear appetizing looking jars when its 35 degrees below and I can have the taste of summer in the jars ! ! ! ! ! !
