I returned this griddle to the seller because of a label attached to the electric cord which stated: Warning. The power cord on this product contains lead, a chemical known to the state of California to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm. Wash hands after handling. This warning was not written on the packaging or the instruction booklet but only attached to the cord. Fortunately I noted the warning as soon as I unpacked the griddle and quickly repacked it to return to the source of purchased...and of course washed my hands. This item was made in China.
