5.0 out of 5 stars KitchenAid knife set
I have owned this product for about 6 months and the knives are great. I have decided to only wash them by hand (only product I have ever done this too, I am a BIG fan of the dishwasher) and I have not had a problem with them. I have left them in a pile next to or in the sink and washed them later when I got a chance and I have never had a problem with them rusting...

I have owned these knives for about a year and a half and they are the worst. I always wash by havd and they still rust and they are very dull. I even bought an electric sharpener and they just don't stay sharp. These are definately not worth the money buy another brand.

They look good --- but that's about it. Probably the worst knives I've ever owned. They can be sharpened but they hold an edge for about 5 minutes max. If you still want to buy them I'll sell you mine for half price.

Occasionally one will make it into the dishwasher and they have came out fine, but I don't want to push my luck.
The steak knives are not the same quality as the other knives, but it was not a decision killer for me. I paid between $50 - $60 at a discount store (Ross) for them and I have seen them priced similar at Amazon during sales. They are well worth it for that price. The upright block takes little room on the counter and I am very happy with my decision for the price I paid.

3.0 out of 5 stars Prone to rusting, May 8, 2007

Knives such as these are prone to rusting (not unique to Kitchen Aid). If you don't dry the knives quickly, you've just thrown them away. I suggest either buying a more expensive set, or a cheaper set (which, ironically, are often much less likely to rust)
