Consistent toast,

This review is from: KitchenAid Pro Line 2-Slice Toaster, Pearl Metallic (Kitchen)
For those who cannot live without toast (and marmalade), the cost of a toaster becomes less material than the results it produces. Sure you can buy a tosater for $30, but will it treat your bread in an appropriate manner? The Kitchen Aid Pro Line is a solidly made piece. I bought it to replace a Dualite that had for years produced spotty toast (even Pain Poulaine) and managed to consistently trap bread underneath its lifter levers. People asked how I could replace the Queen's toaster with this one - well maybe the Queen has someone selecting the good pieces of toast from the Dualite. This is a nice toaster and if bread is important to you - worth the money.

kitchen aid toaster Model: KPTT780PM,
I purchased one of these heavy duty toasters from the Kitchen Aid website about a year ago and I had to exchange it right away because it would only toast one side of the bread at a time. Another pain is once you put the bread in it, and push the slide down you still have to turn a switch to turn the toaster on. I can honestly say that this toaster works just as good as any other $10.00 dollar toaster that I have bought. (I think I paid over $125.00 for it, ouch!) If you want a nice looking toaster buy it, if you want a toaster that makes great toast, shop around..

Pro Line is the Worst!! DO NOT BUY!,

This review is from: KitchenAid Pro Line 2-Slice Toaster, Pearl Metallic (Kitchen)
The Kitchen Aid Pro Line line of products are absolute garbage. When I got my kitchen remodeled I wanted to buy all new, all high-end kitchen counter appliances. I thought (and still do think) that the Pro Line is the best looking line of appliances. My praise stops there.I started with the coffee maker which I returned within 1 week. The maker made good enough coffee but 1) I had to pull the maker out from under my cabinets to make coffee as it released soooooo much steam and 2) as the steam rose up the side of the machine the condensation would drip down the side leaving a nice puddle of water for me to clean up. An absolute mess. At the same time I bought the Pro Line coffee maker. From the outset it was a bit messy as whenever you pull out the glass jar, grounds fall everywhere. I forgave it that flaw as again I was swayed by the look. I realized that after having it for awhile and looking a lot closer at it that it had hairline cracks throughout the entire painted part of the appliance. I have it out of the way on the counter so you can't see the flaws in the paint. The third and last appliance I bought was the 4 slice toaster. My mother had a $15 Toastmaster for 20 years that performed better than this piece of junk. From day one I found the toasting to be uneven and definitely not delivering toast worthy of the price I paid for the appliance. I've had the machine just over 2 years now and over the last 2 months the "off/on" dial on one side of the toaster has begun to not always turn on (or off) when turned. It takes a few times of turning. Additionally, two weeks ago a simple lift of the toast lift lever resulted in the black plastic handle snapping in two. I now have a lovely sharp shard of plastic protruding from the machine. I shop a lot on Amazon and definitely read reviews, but never feel compelled to write one. This is my first review ever and I write it to save other consumers the nightmare that has been the last 2 years with Pro Line. I continue to see the expansion of the line and look longingly at the waffle maker, blender, etc. Yet nothing will ever sway me again to buy anything in this Pro Line. Save yourself the trouble - do not buy!!!!

I got this to go with my 3 other Pro Line appliances. From the get go it was clear that the heating elements glow unevenly and when a thin slice of toast used on the highest setting barely toasts, you have to wonder what all the lower settings are for. Honestly, the toaster I threw out where fully half the heating elements didn't work did a much better job toasting by flipping the toast and letting both sides toast. But hey, it looks good. KitchenAid also does not stand by their Pro line products. Don't Pros use things all day every day in professional settings? Well if they do it with Pro Line products they aren't going to be in business very long. Kicking myself that I could have bought 5 working toasters for the same price! Should have gone with Dualit if I wanted something pretty.

Not a good toaster - A great one!,

I have been a proud owner of the 2-slice pro-line toaster since 2004. It's built like a tank. It has been made with quality like the KitchenAid mixer that everyone owns. My wife and I use it almost every single day before we go to work and it has given us consistent even toasting for breads and bagles. Not only does it look sharp in our ultra-modern kitchen but it performs better than any toaster I ever owned. What more could we ask? My family recommends it highly!

I have had this 2-slice toaster for about 4 months and stopped using it last week after I bought a $29 Oster as a replacement. Toasting bread with this Kitchen Aid takes about three times as long as a regular toaster. The highest setting (9) takes about 4 minutes to complete, yet toasts come out a little brown but still too soft for my taste (and I like them to be soft inside, not like biscotti!) For the second cycle, though, I have to readjust the setting to about 3-4, then pull down the lever, and finally turn the On/Off knob to turn the toaster on. Too many steps for one slice of bread. All in all, each slice takes about 6-7 minutes to toast. The toaster does look nice and is heavy, which I liked at first when I received it 4 months ago, and the signal it gives when the toasting cycle is complete is nice. But, in the end, who cares about that?? I prefer a toaster that fulfills its main function properly.

Toast Lover!,

I love this toaster! It is so much better then the Cuisinart, thatI just threw out. The toast browns very even and I like the fact that it keeps the toast warm untill ready to eat. This toaster is also very heavy duty and will built.

For the price of this toaster one can almost buy four of other brands which probably works a lot better. It weighs a ton and toasts unevenly. Toast takes a long time to brown. I would have never bought this toaster except that it was a gift. I have the red one and I guess it looks good in the kitchen. My sister-in-law said that one is paying for the novelty of the blue light that comes on when it is turned on and the buzzer that sounds when the toast is supposedly ready. Definitely not worth the price.

After my cheap toaster of seven years quit on me I decided I wanted a nice looking high-end toaster. Specifically I was looking for a toaster I would have to manually lift up and down since it is frustrating when toast pops up and I'm not quite ready to butter it and then it becomes cold before I can get to it. Before buying this toaster I read MANY mixed reviews so I wasn't quite sure what to expect. Well, it works beautifully. I always make my own whole wheat bread, which is heavy and moist so I anticipated running it through two cycles to fully toast it. First time using it, it toasted perfectly with only one cycle. It toasts evenly and fairly quickly, and I love that it stays in the toaster until I am ready to pop it up. I couldn't be happier with this toaster and it looks great on my counter. I recommend it so much that I just purchased one for my mother.
