1.0 out of 5 stars Turn Table Failure, December 2, 2011
This review is from: KitchenAid Architect Series II : KCMS2055SSS 2 cu. ft. Countertop Microwave Oven
Turn table froze after less than three years use. Local appliance repair companies will not service because of low cost of new more popular lower capacity microwaves. Kitchen Aid repair service in my area was $129 plus parts. Lesson learned: don't pay more than $200 for a counter top microwave oven.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not a happy customer., January 11, 2012
This review is from: KitchenAid Architect Series II : KCMS2055SSS 2 cu. ft. Countertop Microwave Oven
My house came with the previous version of this model and the microwave broke after 5 years of normal use. During it's final run, it began buzzing and lights flickering with a strong electrical burning smell. The microwave stopped working after this episode. I opted to replace the unit rather than repair for safety reasons. I purchased this model as my installation utilizes a stainless steel trim kit and this would be a direct replacement and I wouldn't have to purchase a new trim kit along with a new microwave of a different brand. The microwave arrived in good shape (packaging was great). After 3 uses the microwave stopped heating. It appeared to be working correctly (fans, control panel display, rotating table, etc) but simply wouldn't heat. Under warranty, Kitchen Aid sent out a licensed repair technician and he determined that the control panel was faulty. I then took it upon myself to send back the damaged unit rather than opt for repair and receive a new unit. The new unit is here, and has been working fine for a week. I must note that the heating time on this new unit doesn't compare to my previous model - it takes much longer to heat things. The 1100 watt microwave that my parents own heats in half the time of this model. Kitchen Aid is supposed to make high end products and this microwave carries a high end price tag considering how cheap you can pick up a microwave at places like Wal Mart. At this point I'm crossing my fingers and hoping this new unit holds up, but I am a bit worried. I'd steer clear of this model if you're in the market for a new microwave oven.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: KitchenAid Architect Series II : KCMS2055SSS 2 cu. ft. Countertop Microwave Oven
I purchased this $500 microwave through Amazon Marketplace. It was shipped from CDV Variety Store, not in original packaging and bashed on the side. You should find a more reliable vendor for this product.
