Again their customer service reps give us different answers each time we call and ask AND their answers are different than what the manual says.

It boils water quickly and is very responsive when you adjust the gas flow.

OK, so this serious design flaw that other folks mention appears to be quite common among stoves. My mother in law has the same issue on her stove (not a kitchen aid) and even (gasp!) spilled something between the glass. I almost didnt buy it for that reason, but I'm glad I did. My wife and I have used the stove daily and perhaps because I was aware of the issue -- we've not had any spillage issues. If I ever do spill something, I expect this will match my butcher block, which is also stained because we use it. While we've not had any stains on the stove, we have, however, had brilliant baked goods, wonderful soups, risottos and paella, and of course, some damn fine pizza.

To be fair, we were coming from a fully electric stove which could bake relatively well and was also skilled at both burning and undercooking items on the stovetop. For all its faults, our electric stove could boil water quickly, but not as quickly as this. Why do I mention the electric stove? Because it was 220. When I replaced it with this gas stove, I had to run a gas line but NOT change the outlet. It just plugged right in, and we get the best of both worlds: an electric oven that heats quickly and evenly and a gas stove with precise control. Just. Brilliant.

The KitchenAid is not without its flaws. I dont like the range grates. They are an unfinished matte black metal which looks great at first but they're not as easy to clean as I'd like. The middle (5th) burner is not strong enough to be as useful as it could be. I wish the oven was like an inch deeper to better fit my pizza stone.

All in all, its a great stove and doesnt deserve the low reviews posted here so far.

Bought this stove earlier this spring. It actually arrived in less than a week and the delivery guys brought it into the house and un-crated it for me. A friend who is a plumber came over the next day and hooked it up.

I've got to say that I love it. The burners work great and the ovens are just perfect. I've found that it takes longer to preheat the bottom oven than the top one so unless it's something tall, I usually just bake in the top one. Cakes, cookies, biscuits and bread all come out perfect. The convection works great too.

I've done a lot of canning this year and it works like a champ. Setting a stable temperature for my pressure canner is really easy. I really like the lock feature, especially when my younger grandchildren were visiting.

The only change I would make would be to make the griddle slightly larger. Although it's perfect for cooking a couple of eggs and bacon for my husband and myself, it's really too small to cook more than that (or two pancakes) at one time.

The ovens are electric but don't have heat coils in them so cleanup is just wiping out the oven once it cools. I haven't (and may never) tried the self-clean feature.

It's a great stove and I would buy it again.

This stove is gorgeous and functions brilliantly! I have had no problem with spills behind the glass in the top oven door, but the small inside panel of the oven door does remove, so the glass can be cleaned, if needed.

The ovens are accurate and the control panel is very simple to use. The true convection oven, (not just a regular electric oven with a fan spinning the air around), is a new option to me, and I appreciate that the oven will automatically convert the time and temperature needed to cook with this method.

I had an electric stove previously, so cooking with this gas stove is a dream. It boils water quickly and is very responsive when you adjust the gas flow.

You can purchase this range with no fear. You'll LOVE it!

One installation tip: because this is a double oven, the unit is flat all the way down the back. It doesn't have the open space at the bottom of the back panel that a regular oven (with a drawer) might have. Be sure to recess your gas connection and your 220 electric outlet into the wall. Otherwise, the range will sit farther out from the wall than you might like.

We bought this for our new home and I can't say enough good things about it. I do agree with the previous poster that the fan seems to come on during both regular cooking and convection but it doesn't bother me in the slightest and although I do find items cook a bit quicker in my top oven then my bottom, I have not had anything burn on me and have been very pleased with the results of all my baking/cooking. I love being able to have double ovens in a regular oven slot and I find the top oven can hold almost everything (just not a turkey or ham - tall things) so we cook almost everything in that oven and I belive it saves some cost of electricity. The only problem I have run into is that when I ran my self clean it would not unlock after the cycle was complete and the oven cooled down, I had to wait 2 months for replacement parts however as I had only run the clean on the bottom oven, I could still use the top oven while waiting for the parts. My repairman said that the worst thing you can do for your oven is run the self clean cycle, it is very hard on the oven and often causes problems, he recommends not using them on any oven as they will most likely shorten the life of your oven. So since then I havce just used easy off oven cleaner and it works like a charm. I also LOVE the griddle in the middle of the stove, we cook eggs, quesadillas, pancakes, etc. on it and just wipe it down with a paper towel afterwards, it's great! Love, love, love this oven.
