5.0 out of 5 stars amazing
Its seriously better than any dishwasher I've ever used.

my wife and I had gone 8mos with no dishwasher, so we were ready for a nice one. and we love the overall look and feel, and the steel bin, all of that didn't have much competition in the same price range...any way our house we moved into came with a dishwasher that was fairly new looking, but it was...

Our new KitchenAid dishwasher was not cleaning dishes about 4 months after we purchased it. The repairman has been out three times to replace the soap dispenser, within the 2 months since the first outage, but in examining the design it appears that the soap dispenser is too large for the unit and has difficulty opening because of the arrangement of shelves inside. We called Kitchen Aid and they declined to provide any solution or replacement model. They are only willing to pay for repeated replacement of the soap dispenser which is inconvenient and time consuming for us. Don't buy this product and my advice is to beware of any Kitchenaid products based on the fact that they are unwilling to stand behind them and there are clear design issues with this model.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very Disappointed, February 14, 2010
This review is from: KitchenAid Architect C Series II : KUDC03FVSS Fully Integrated Dishwasher - Stainless Steel
We liked the "sleek" design of this dishwasher and the hidden controls but this dishwasher is the biggest hunk of junk and a total waste of money. I agree with the previous comment about the soap dispenser....we just throw a dishwashing tablet in the bottom rather than attempting to use the dispenser. That was, until the dishwasher decided not to work AT ALL. The lights on the top panel just started flashing so we called Kitchen Aid and they said to contact the Sears repair dept. The door "hinges" which are actually STRINGS broke about 6 months ago so we purchased a warranty service contract from Sears when they came to repair that problem. So we contacted them again and the technician came out and ordered 3 parts. One came within a week, the other 2 are on "indefinite backorder". After numerous phonecalls arguing with Sears (and getting hung up on 3 times while being transferred to higher-ups), we got nowhere. Tomorrow will be the 31st day without a dishwasher so now I can request a $500 credit from Sears towards a new dishwasher. Bottom line....don't waste your money on this product.

1.0 out of 5 stars Piece of Junk, November 14, 2009
This review is from: KitchenAid Architect C Series II : KUDC03FVSS Fully Integrated Dishwasher - Stainless Steel
We purchased the dishwasher 1 year ago for our kitchen remodel. It does not work; every load leaves food stuck to the dishes, even on pots/pans.
We had a warranty repair man out who told us nothing is broken, "that is the best it will work." I have tried several soap brands and running the hot water before running. Nothing.
DO NOT BUY a KitchenAid dishwasher!

I have been using Cascade complete dishwasher packets and only using the Heavy Duty cycle and now get much better cleaning results.

1.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't clean, September 17, 2010

We bought a brand new condo which came furnished with kitchen appliances, all brand new, including this dishwasher. Since day one, it has not cleaned well. It's gotten to where I have to soak all my dishes before I put them in, and somehow they still don't come clean. I know how to load a dishwasher properly, so I know that isn't the issue. I had a portable dishwasher in my last place, and that worked 10 times better than this piece of crap.

1.0 out of 5 stars Garbage, November 14, 2010

[Pros]

It is really quiet.

It looks great.

[Cons]

The hidden controls make it a little annoying to use. It's not a horrible problem, but it's inconvenient.

This marketing claim is untrue: "Eliminates the need for pre-rinsing by quietly grinding up food particles and washing them away." If you don't pre-rinse your dishes and you leave food on them, the dishwasher won't be able to grind the food well enough for it to pass through the pipe to the air gap or food disposer. What will happen is after every wash your 'clean' dishes and your kitchen will smell like garbage. I have called for repairs almost every other month now and the problem is still there. Eventually KitchenAid even denied my last repair request. KitchenAid really needs to either fix this problem or to eliminate the aforementioned marketing claim.

Another problem contributing to the problem is a factory defect that prevents the water from completely draining. This also leads to the garbage smell issue.

Kitchen Aid does not stand by their products. Their customer service, support, and warranty terms are just not good enough for a higher end brand.

Its seriously better than any dishwasher I've ever used.

my wife and I had gone 8mos with no dishwasher, so we were ready for a nice one. and we love the overall look and feel, and the steel bin, all of that didn't have much competition in the same price range...any way our house we moved into came with a dishwasher that was fairly new looking, but it was clogged beyond repair with calcium chunks the size of my thumb, I removed handfuls! I read for hours online about dishwasher repair and maintenance, kept thinking maybe we won't have to buy a new one. I learned a lot, especially hearing all the repeated same problems. I mostly gathered from it all that if you start getting cheap on what you put in the dishwasher, it'll start to have problems.

I bought a nice high quality water softener from a local place, not a box store... and had it installed before I even considered getting a new dishwasher. and then all I did was use the recommended soap and rinse aid.. Cascade, and jet dry, and I've been running it for a year straight now and its an amazing dishwasher. Zero issues. I hardly even pre-rinse, but when I do I never use dish soap, just water. I heard the dish soap can react with the dishwashing detergent? why risk it? and honestly no soap is necessary in the prerinse, unless you wait a week to prerinse.

anyway, its been a year, and I love it so much I had to come back here to give a good comment for the poor machine. it doesn't deserve the bad reviews, it rocks.

1.0 out of 5 stars dishes come out worse than when they went in, February 16, 2011
This review is from: KitchenAid Architect C Series II : KUDC03FVSS Fully Integrated Dishwasher - Stainless Steel
this is a horrible dishwasher. a couple of years ago, i purchased some cheap $150 dishwasher that did a better job than this one. Dishes and glasses come out gritty. I've tried cleaning it, running it cycles with vinegar, etc.

2.0 out of 5 stars Blistering piece of garbage, December 26, 2010
This review is from: KitchenAid Architect C Series II : KUDC03FVSS Fully Integrated Dishwasher - Stainless Steel
I got saddled with a kitchenaid dishwasher when I bought a new condo. In less than a year the soap dispenser was leaking like a sieve for both the detergent and the clear rinse. Good luck getting a warranty repair with these idiots. The product can't clean for love or money, even on it's 'heavy duty' mode. The design is idiotic as well- the control buttons are ON TOP of the door, making them completely hidden if you have any kind of an overhang on your countertop.

This is an awful product in design and execution. Based on this experience, why would ANYONE buy a kitchenaid dishwasher?
