Have a Kitchen Aid Heavy duty mixer. Love it.but am disappointed in the flat beater. The enamel or covering is breaking and peeling off. This mixer is used often,but never abused. Wanted to comment as I contemplate purchasing a new beater.

I must also add that I love my Kitchenaid, but my paddle attachment began to crack and peel also...not long after I received it. I was and am very disappointed, because I am afraid to use it, and that is really the best attachment for most of the things I make using my Mixer. I would like to get one of the all metal paddles, but cannot seem to find one for my mixer.

Love, love, love my kitchenaid. Hate the paddle. Mine also is cracking and peeling away. Had hoped it was a fluke. Now read it has happened to others. There are just some things you cannot make with the whisk, so have to buy a replacement - but disappointed I have to already.

We have owned a heavy duty Kitchenaid mixer since 1994. It has this same white beater. We have used the mixer several times a week for 12-years and the covering on our beater is intact and as good as the day we purchased it.

It fits the machine perfectly and makes it easy to incorporate all the ingredients of your baked goods mixtures by stirring them together quickly and easily.

It took 25 years of hard work on the part of my mixer, but the beater finally had to be replaced. The problem started when the beater cover was cut with a knife...so really not the manufacturer's issue. I'm so grateful to be able to replace it and continue using my mixer. Thanks for a very reliable product and quality replacement pieces.

The plastic attatchments will break if they hit/rub the bottom of the bowl. When you tilt the mixer back (referring to the K45) there is an adjustment screw. Loosen the screw about a half turn and your attatchments will not rub the bottom of the bowl and crack. The stuff was made to last and it will as long as you take care of it properly! I have a 40+ year old kitchenaid K45 that works just as well as it did 2 generations ago.
