This good looking accessory comes with some instructions if you would actually like to use it for its intended purpose. If you are used to filling your kettle through the spout; forget it. You will have to remove the tight fitting lid to fill 'r up. And please listen to your mom and don't watch this pot, because it may never boil.
She does let you know when the water finally boils, with more of a shriek than a whistle, and when you're ready to tip her over and pour her out, make sure not to hold the cup you're pouring in to, because the aim is not so precise. Even after two months of practise, I still spill the water... If you are willing to deal with the short comings, this KitchenAid quality kettle will be a great conversation piece. If you just want to boil some water; this one's not for you.

I really like this tea kettle, color is lovely. The mechinism for opening the spout is not the most modern but it works. And the Kettle seems hardy.
