3.0 out of 5 stars Broken mixer--good warranty
Our mixer arrived and it looked great, but it did not work. No matter what setting we put it on, it ran at the highest setting and then cut out after about 10 seconds. The good news is this: We called KitchenAid and they corrected it immediately. They sent us a brand new mixer (and an upgrade at that) within a week and provided shipping and pick-up to send the defective...

I bought one, pistachio hoping it was not to ugly, not knowing what the picture looked like.(I sent 2 pics but they still are not quite right)It was perfect for me more like an old time mint color.I received it only 6 days after I ordered it.It is heavy and seems well put together.I am very picky about quality, which seems hard to find.I ran it through a test of 8 cups whole wheat for bread. The only small problem I had is the bowl seemed to tilt. After taking it out I noticed there is a clip on back where the bowl had to pushed into a little to fit level.Easy enough. It made the dough and kneaded it with little effort.I am impressed with the power.I like the bowl lift design.I is a little loud, but no more than I would expect for a powerful motor. The only thing I don't know at this point is i
will last or not.My impression is that it will. The overall quality seems excellent.I would say it is well worth the money if want something with enough power to get the job done.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Mixer, Incredible Value, February 6, 2007
At a price significantly below even the discount chains, this is perhaps the best value I've found on Amazon - and their track record is good. This is a top-notch mixer and has quickly become the most used appliance in our kitchen. I appreciate the simplicity and the strength of the design - leaving you with the sense it will run forever.

5.0 out of 5 stars Kitchen Aid lift stand mixer, February 16, 2007
I bought the Kitchen Aid mixer because I had previously used this product in a restaurant, and I could afford it. The mixer works perfectly, just as I had remembered, but the bowl has substandard welds, since it broke the first time I had to use it. Kitchen Aid replaced the bowl immediately with no questions asked, when I called customer service.

Many people have some problems with this mixer, since the bowl lifts up and down, and the head is immoble. This makes it a little harder to add ingredients, and the mixer has to be turned off and the bowl lowered to scrape the sides. The mixer is designed so that scraping the sides of the bowl doesn't have to be done as often as with a hand mixer.

I love the thing, tho, and I have yet to find an ingredient stiff enough that the mixer doesn't function.

4.0 out of 5 stars Kitchenaid 6 qt nuxer, January 19, 2007
I had a 4.5 quart Kitchenaid that I liked well, but it would not hold a 5lb bag of potatoes for mashing for the holidays. This one is perfect and would probably hold 7-8lbs. The only thing I miss is the tilting of the motor to lift out the mixer blade; it's a pain to have to put beater on with a full load of potatoes in it. The motor is a little more noisy than the smaller unit, but that's minor.

5.0 out of 5 stars I love my KitchenAid!!!, April 1, 2007

This review is from: KitchenAid KB26G1XGR Deluxe Edition 6-Quart Bowl Lift Stand Mixer, Imperial Gray (Kitchen)
I grew up having a KitchenAid in my home so I knew I always wanted one. Every Sunday we made several batches of cookies. We were kids so we were pretty hard on it. My mom still has hers and the only thing that needs replacing is the beater that has been well used so no wonder it's a little shabby looking. I was willing to just get the white 4 quart but once my husband got in on the decision we had to have the lift handle. It's nice that I don't have to pull the mixer out to be able to lift the top of the mixer. Most people I know say this isn't a big inconvenience. My husband didn't like the look of the white and worried it would look dirty. We got the Imperial gray and I really like it. It's nice having the 6 quart bowl even though it seems a little excessive most of the time except for when we need a ton of cookies at once. You know a real emergency. It mixes everything so evenly and I like not having to worry about my cookies turning out. My sister in-law got one recently and still doesn't use it much because she isn't used to having it. I find lots of little ways to use it to make cooking and baking easier. My son says it looks like a robot and he is sure it's a boy. He has three sisters and no brothers. The kids ask me every night if I made the dinner in the KitchenAid and if I say yes they go on and on about how good the dinner is. It only took 10 years of marriage to convince my husband it would be a good investment. He is sold, he loves it too. I almost have him convinced to start baking. I wish I had gotten it ten years ago. I wouldn't let small children use it unattended. As teenagers we thoughtlessly broke several wooden spoons in the mixer because we thought we could get around the beater. That always made my mom so mad. HeHe. I look forward to buying the attachments. I just bought a wheat grinder last year and I am thinking of selling it and getting the wheat grinder attachment instead. If you buy it and use it you will love it, but like any other handy appliance it's a waste of money if you just let it sit there. If you like to bake it's a must have.

5.0 out of 5 stars Kitchen Aid Deluxe Edition 6-Quart Stand mixer, March 22, 2007
This review is from: KitchenAid KB26G1XGR Deluxe Edition 6-Quart Bowl Lift Stand Mixer, Imperial Gray (Kitchen)
This mixer is probably one of the best investments that I have ever made for the kitchen. I love to make home made bread and this machine is able to knead bread with no hesitation at all.I hate to admit it but the texture of the bread is improved when using the mixer to knead breads. Cookies are so much easier too. Although, it is on the heavy side; it looks quite nice on my counter next to the coffee maker. I have no complaints at all in regards to this mixer except that I should have purchased one years ago.

This review is from: KitchenAid KB26G1XGR Deluxe Edition 6-Quart Bowl Lift Stand Mixer, Imperial Gray (Kitchen)
I have always wanted a standing mixer but could never justify the cost compared to the usage I'd get out of it. But the planets aligned when I decided to take some cake decorating classes AND saw this great deal on Amazon. The mixer could do things my handmixer could only dream of. It made icing with ease and little mess, just one nifty bowl and the three attachments. The 6 quart size bowl was more then generous and clean up was easy. It looks gorgeous on my counter and I'm the envy of friends and fellow cooks. I only have one concern, it is rather loud, even when I've only got it on the 4th setting when there are 10. This is my first stand mixer so I have nothing to compare it too. Otherwise I'm completely happy with it and am so glad I finally got it...for a great price to boot!

5.0 out of 5 stars I love my Kitchen Aid, February 6, 2007
This review is from: KitchenAid KB26G1XGR Deluxe Edition 6-Quart Bowl Lift Stand Mixer, Imperial Gray (Kitchen)
I researched several kitchen aid mixers before I purchased this one. This is definately the best deal for the money. I love the 6 quart capacity. I have also purchased the meat grinder, vegatable strainer, shredder attachments and the pasta plates. I have made several items with the kitchen aid mixer in the past month. It's a great time saver. I've mixed several batches of meatballs. No more kneading them with my hands. Couple of minutes in the mixer and they're done! Can't believe I didn't purchase one sooner. My biggest concern would be the ease of clean up, but my worries ended quickly. The attachements clean up quickly and easily. The dough hook works like a charm! The recipes that come with the mixer are very easy to follow and walks you through step by step and has great tips as well.
