If you don't have the space for a large food processor, or just want some help with slicing and dicing for soups and salads, this 7-cup food processor from KitchenAid is an excellent choice. It chops, shreds, and grates, and has a pulse function just like the larger models, although it can't liquefy fruits and vegetables. It's only 13-1/2 inches tall and weighs just 11 pounds, making it an ideal choice for smaller kitchens or for only occasional use. In addition to the multipurpose blade and 7-cup work bowl, there's an additional mini bowl and mini blade, as well as a citrus press attachment. Only one disc is included, which is reversible for both slicing and shredding. Having gifted my Cuisinart processor to my daughter I found that my kitchen was incomplete without a replacement. I decided on a Kitchen Aid 7-cup processor. Compared to the Cuisinart there are two things I like better. First, it much quieter when in use. Second, it has a mini bowl and blade for fine chopping, eliminating the need for a mini-chopper. While I am brand loyal for many things, this purchase was a better choice. Like their dishwashers, excellend quality and value.

This product is an excellant buy for the price. I have several other food processors that are in various price categories, and none match the elegant design and power of this product.This processor is quiet, extremely powerful, and has made preparation of some fairly complicated dishes a lot easier. The large bowl holds all of the ingredients for many dishes which others have not. The limited number of attachemnts and blades is actually a blessing since I don't have to remember what goes with which appliance. The included blade and shredding disk are top quality and heavy duty, and the mini-bowl and small blade are perfect for little jobs. It also came with a juicer attachment. I have not used it yet, but it looks sturdier than the one that came with another processor I have. The design is great for cleanliness. The buttons are enclosed in the "skin" of the processor, so they need only be wiped off if something splatters. They can't get food into and around the buttons and thus no damage from splatters can occur. I would recommend this product to anyone particularly at this price.

This little workhorse is a honey of an appliance because it makes preparation work like chopping onions, garlic, etc. a breeze. No more straining when squeezing limes because the juicer attachment does the job for you as well as lemons, grapefruit, etc. It can be used for grinding nuts, mixing pastry, and saves you precious time and tedious hand work. And if you like salads, shredding or slicing carrots, cucumber, green pepper, celery is no problem with the slicing-shredding disk to do the job. I LOVE IT MADLY.
