1.0 out of 5 stars Wrong Information!
This is not so much of a review as a correction: this model only has 650 watts of power, not 780 as you state on your site. I was trying to decide whether to purchase the 650 or 670 model and wondered why I could get much more wattage for less money - yes, it WAS too good to be true!

I was going to buy a Cuisinart but the reviews from Amazon customers convinced me to try the Kitchen Aid. The KFPM650 comes with 3 discs, a general purpose blade, a dough blade, an egg blade and a minibowl with blade. It also comes with an instruction/cookbook and a video.

I haven't watched the video. The cookbook gave a lot of good ideas for using the processor.

As for the processor itself, amazing! It made short work of veggies. This was the first time I was able to make Cajun food without spending a half hour chopping vegetables first. I ran som onions through the large slicer. While they were caramelizing I had more than enough time to slice the celery and peppers. Slicing bell beppers is fun. Just quarter them vertically and drop the pieces into the running processor. Don't blink or you'll miss it.

I'm really looking forward to putting this thing to good use for sauces, marinades, doughs and more. I don't know how I was able to live without it.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best thing since sliced bread, September 14, 2000

My wife and I bought the KFP650 about 3 months ago and I must say it has been the best thing since sliced bread. We decided to spend a little more to get the KFP650 rather than the KFP600 due to the metal construction of the KFP650. Best decision we ever made.

The KFP650 is like a tank and the motor works like a charm. We never feel uncomfortable pressing the pulsing button over and over again. The unit never heats up or slows down even when processing frozen beef.

5.0 out of 5 stars Definitely a very welcomed addition in our kitchen!, April 9, 2002
This review is from: KitchenAid KFP650 11-Cup Professional Food Processor, White (Kitchen)
While I wouldn't get rid of my other kitchen appliances, this food processor does a lot and saves a lot of time!

The pros:
It is wonderful for chopping vegetables and shredding chicken! It is a huge timesaver. It is very easy to clean by hand or throw in the dishwasher. It gets used almost every day.

Plan on loving this machine if you chop large amounts of food at once. I think if you are preparing food for just yourself and perhaps a spouse it might be just as easy to chop by hand. But if you've got a lot to chop this machine will finish it in an instant.

The cons:
I still find that I use my hand mixer for some things, and that the blender still does better with drinks and liquidy stuff. The food processor's shallow middle hole means that it can't hold a lot of liquid even in the largest bowl. So don't throw out those extra gadgets, just plan on using them less.

I've tried using the egg whip once, and didn't have luck getting the egg whites whipped well enough. Maybe it was just me, but the machine didn't seem to whip them hard enough to get a stiff peak.

In summary:
This machine is lovely! I waited a few months before writing a review so that I would have some experience with it. I wish I'd bought it much sooner!

5.0 out of 5 stars Everything you need in a Food Processor...and More!, August 24, 2001
This review is from: KitchenAid KFP650 11-Cup Professional Food Processor, White (Kitchen)
I am an amateur cook, and after receiving this I am in wonderous awe of its powers! I made do with a knife and cutting board for many years before getting this, and I can't imagine ever going back to my old ways. Everyhting that you throw at it is processed in seconds without so much as a shake of the base or getting overheated. The base is solid metal and looks very handsome on the counter top. It comes with a a shredding disk, a slicing disk, a reverse shredding/slicing disk (with smaller cuts), a dough blade, the multipurpose Sabatier blade, the small bowl blade, and the egg whip, all of which are stored in a small box. The egg whip is fantastic, you just pour in heavy cream, wait a minute, and the most fantastically heavy whipped cream is ready. The mini bowl is such a great idea because it quickly and efficiently chops up small amounts of garlic or herbs, without dirtying the main bowl. Everything is dishwasher safe, but the first time that I ran it through the machine, the plastice parts all seemed to have expanded and it became very hard to take the lid on and off. After a few uses it got easier, and dishwashing hasn't been a problem since. This is a wonderful product except for this dishwashing issue, but that is only a mere annoyance. Get this: You won't regret it.

5.0 out of 5 stars From Yugo to Cadillac!, February 6, 2002

Why, oh why, did I wait so long to purchase this beauty? It chops, it mixes, it slices, it purrs... I don't have to worry about getting my stance (legs spread apart, elbows locked, fingers tightly grasping the base unit) before hitting the button with this machine. The bottom-heavy construction of this processor assures me of no walking across the countertop. Other family members swear by KitchenAid products - this was my first purchase. It will not be my last.

Clean up is a snap - no hidden slots/grooves/parts. Rinse and pop into the dishwasher. And then pull it out again before washing because you've found another use for it for that side dish you're preparing. Or the dessert...

You'll get used to the routine.

The storage unit for the accessories is especially nice - I don't have to hunt in my bottom cupboard for that elusive disc.

After wrestling for years with my other processor, this is like driving a luxury automobile. My old one was sent to the junkyard immediately after I sliced my first red pepper with this baby.

It's a bit pricey, but it is worth every penny. Just hit the "Add to shopping cart" button and start dreaming. ...(the website) got this to my doorstep 2 days after ordering it.

You know you want it - just click. You won't regret it.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Beauty in the Kitchen, January 3, 2001
This review is from: KitchenAid KFP650 11-Cup Professional Food Processor, White (Kitchen)
This is simply the most impressive food processor I have ever seen. It looks good, works flawlessly, and comes with a wide array of accessories (and even a case to store them in). The processor functions in two modes-- continuous or pulse. It handles with ease the toughest of foods.

One of the nicest features are the multiple mixing bowls-- if you are in the middle of a complicated dish, you don't have to stop and clean the bowl before processing the next item. It also features a small bowl and blade which are perfect for grating cheese and chopping nuts-- or anything that would normally be lost in the larger bowls. The accessories for slicing vegetables are constructed with metal (not plastic, like many processors) shafts, making them very durable.

Best of all, the sleek design makes it easy to clean-- no food can get stuck around the buttons. I heartily recommend this food processor to anyone seeking high quality kitchen equipment.

I am retired male who loves to cook/bake in my spare time which I have. This food processor was purchased 8 months ago and I think it is the next best thing to sliced bread. I use it for everything from pie crusts to chopping/slicing foods for salads. Speaking of pie crusts, It makes the best flaky and delicious crusts using the recipe that was included with the processor. It kneads bread wonderfully and in a very short time. I also make wonderful meringue pies and sauces for anything. I do not use my Kichen Aid mixer or blender anymore. This is a definite MUST for the kitchen.

5.0 out of 5 stars Terrific Purchase - I love it!, May 17, 2001

This review is from: KitchenAid KFP650 11-Cup Professional Food Processor, White (Kitchen)
I own a Cuisinart Classic and hated cleaning it, because the pusher assembly does not come apart, which makes it impossible to get into all areas to thoroughly dry it. The KitchenAid is a breeze to clean and dry. It is a very powerful machine and makes quick work of any job you give it. I am glad I made the investment in this machine. The recipe book tempted me to make the Gorgonzola Cheese Ball, which was delightful. I wish I'd known about this machine before I bought the Cuisinart eight years ago. Its one and only advantage is a slightly larger feed tube. I own many other KitchenAid products and I love them all. Next time I need an appliance, I'll be sure to buy KitcheAid.

I could kick myself for not buying one of these sooner. I save at least seven hours a week in food preparation time! It use to take me an average of 3 hours to chop all of the vegetables for my stir-fry into paper thin slices. With this food processor, it only takes 8 minutes! I was afraid that the clean-up time would be longer, but everything really rinses off easily. I just put everything in the dishwasher. The attachments are very simple to use and easy to store. The best thing is that my husband loves to use it, and now he cooks as much as I do. This food processor is quick. It only takes 2 or 3 seconds to completely slice a whole potato, and I'm not exaggerating at all. The construction of this processor is extremely sturdy. I would highly recommend this KitchenAid food processor to anyone who wants to spend less time cooking and more time eating!

After burning up several food processors, we finally took the plunge and purchased this food processor, and it's worth every penny!! I have on several occasions put carrots, potatoes, onions, etc into this food processor, and even doughs, and it slices, chops, and or mixes with ease. Kitchen Aid ships this with a very convenient case for all attachments that fit quite neatly into it, such as slicing disks, shreader disk, chopping blades, as well as a mini bowl for chopping small jobs like garlic with ease. Another great product. It is somewhat heavy, but well worth it!
