4.0 out of 5 stars Great Food Processor, but accessories are too expensive
I recently purchased the KitchenAid KFP715 and I've only used it a few times. No complaints so far - well built, very sturdy, and gets the job done.

However, when I ordered this model, I didn't realize that there was a KFP720 and KFP730 as well. The 720 and 730 are the same basic unit as the KFP715, but they come with additional accessories (both include...

2.0 out of 5 stars Very Disappointed
I got this food processor for my husband for Christmas and I wanted a good one, that would last a while. In general we liked the processor, it's quiet and worked very well. However it's now been 13 months since the purchase and too many parts on it have broken to fix. And guess what, the warranty has just run out. If I pay $100.00 for something, I would expect it to last...

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Food Processor, but accessories are too expensive, September 10, 2010
This review is from: KitchenAid KFP715 Food Processor, 7-Cup
I recently purchased the KitchenAid KFP715 and I've only used it a few times. No complaints so far - well built, very sturdy, and gets the job done.

However, when I ordered this model, I didn't realize that there was a KFP720 and KFP730 as well. The 720 and 730 are the same basic unit as the KFP715, but they come with additional accessories (both include the "mini-bowl" and a small blade, which is necessary for mincing garlic and chopping nuts - and the 730 adds a citrus press). You can buy these options separately, but the cost is outrageous. If you will be using this to chop small items like garlic or nuts, go for the KFP720. The citrus press probably isn't required in as many kitchens, but go for the KFP730 if you want to get this option included.

5.0 out of 5 stars exceptional, February 11, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: KitchenAid KFP715 Food Processor, 7-Cup
I searched all over my town for a decent food processor. Most were too big or too small. I saw the KitchenAid 7 cup Food Processor but it was "out of stock" at the Target I was at and they didn't know when it might come in. Went directly to Amazon.com and found it for the same price and free shipping. How could I lose? It is an excellent food processor and the ease of cleaning is a real plus. It's slightly heavy but I attribute that to a powerful motor. Works like a dream.

This product was certainly worth the price I paid for it. It runs very quietly compared to other processors that I have owned. The slice & shred blades do a great job. I like the fact that it has a metal post for the blade unlike others that only have a plastic post and that was always the part that broke. Feel confident in purchasing this product, you will not be disappointed.

4.0 out of 5 stars Does everything I expected it to do, July 22, 2010
This review is from: KitchenAid KFP715 Food Processor, 7-Cup
I really like this food processor and it's been really durable and powerful for me. I have abused this processor many times over and it still keeps on ticking. I really like the quality of build and the heft of the motor. I really feel I got what I paid for, and it's been really good to me over the last year. My only complaint is that they don't make more discs for this processor. I really want more capability for the price, but I would rather have this one more than the Cuisinart. This processor does plenty for me and I wouldn't trade it for anything.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Perfect Food Processor!, May 26, 2010
This review is from: KitchenAid KFP715 Food Processor, 7-Cup
When my old food processor died, I wanted to replace it with the same size and kind. Luckily, they don't make that old food processor anymore, and I purchased this 7-Cup KitchenAid. This food processor does everything my old one did and so much more. It is absolutely fantastic!

I used it to process leftover roast beef to make sandwich spread. In a matter of seconds all the meat was minced perfectly. With my old food processor I had to stop and scrape down the sides several times, not so with this one. I have used it several other times and have been pleased with the results everytime.

This is the perfect food processor if you don't want something very small, or if you don't want to spend several hundred dollars. I highly recommend this food processor.

1.0 out of 5 stars Cheap Parts Break Easily, February 14, 2011
This review is from: KitchenAid KFP715 Food Processor, 7-Cup
I just junked my second of these Kitchen Aid Food Processors. The parts break off very easily despite careful hand washing. Kitchen Aid sent me a replacement for the first one in May, but 9 months later the replacement has broken in all the same places. Spend more money and get a tool that will last a lifetime. This Food Processor will not.

1.0 out of 5 stars Good for a few years...., June 22, 2011
This review is from: KitchenAid KFP715 Food Processor, 7-Cup
Well when I first purchased this processor it was a dream to own. I saved so much time in the kitchen prepping various meals. I believe I have had this device for 3 years when it just stopped working all together. I pushed the button and the red light would go on, but the rotations wouldn't happen.

No I did not purchase an extended warranty. That's my prerogative, I believe Kitchen Aid should stand behind their devices for at least 3 years in general without having to extort more money from their customers.

So I called customer service, which is not adding to my overall Kitchen Aid experience, and was told I can ship it to get it fixed. Or, they can give me 30% off on a new or refurbished model. So I guess that can either be a good or bad offer depending on your expectations of this company's reputation.

Responses to my emails to customer service indicated that they were no longer fixing this particular food processor. So that contradicts what their customer service originally said. So if I happen to ship this to get it fixed, it would have been a waste of my money yet one more time.

While it worked, it worked great. But then I think to myself, I have purchased food choppers from Wal-Mart that are STILL working fine....so you be the judge. I'm done with Kitchen Aid for now.

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding little food processor, June 5, 2010
This review is from: KitchenAid KFP715 Food Processor, 7-Cup
I needed a food processor powerful enough to slice carrots every day for my horses. This one is awesome! Powerful, quiet and it has a small enough foot print to sit on my kitchen counter and look clean! It does not take on the orange of the carrots on the machine. The parts do a little but not enough to notice. I'm thinking about buying a backup just in case Kitchen Aid ever discontinues this model!!

3.0 out of 5 stars suddenly failed after one year, December 28, 2010
This review is from: KitchenAid KFP715 Food Processor, 7-Cup
This food processor worked well while it lasted. It died unexpectedly on Christmas Day, when I really needed it and could not get anything to replace it. Maybe mine is just a lemon. While is worked it sliced, shredded, chopped quite well.
