Great for pesto and cole slaw., May 24, 2006
This review is from: KitchenAid KFP720WH 7-Cup Food Processor with 3-Cup Mini Bowl, White (Kitchen)
I bought one of these for my wife. We're at the limit for storage space. I actually brought home one of the larger Kitchen Aid units and I had to take it back because we didn't have room to store it!
This unit is heavy, powerful, and quiet for its size. So far we've had nothing but good experiences with it, but it's a good idea to read all the reviews to see if your particular favorite food is something people have had trouble processing with this particular machine.
It seems that all food processors have their strengths and weaknesses. Our main purpose for the machine is processing veggies, and it's working just fine so far. And, its small enough to hide away when not in use.
Finally, the three cup bowl is great for doing small jobs. That was one of the reasons we chose this machine.

A Terrific Food Processor (especially for homemade baby food), June 9, 2007
This review is from: KitchenAid KFP720WH 7-Cup Food Processor with 3-Cup Mini Bowl, White (Kitchen)
After researching food processors, I settled on the Kitchen Aid 7-cup Processor with 3-cup Mini Bowl. I am very pleased with my purchase. It is easy to make small batches of baby food in the 3-cup mini bowl and large batches in the 7-cup bowl; having the size option is terrific! The food processor does a great job pureeing meat, fruit and veggies, chopping garlic and herbs, making creamy hummus, etc. I use a stick blender for soups so I didn't need a large processor. The slicing/shredding disc works great for making hashbrowns, shredding cheese, slicing zucchini, etc.
The processor is easy to clean with all parts (besides the base & cord) being top-rack dishwasher safe, but I also find a baby bottle brush to be very useful when cleaning it by hand. It is surprisingly quiet when running. And, it is small enough to store either on the counter-top or in a cabinet. I would highly recommend this food processor.
Update (10/16/08): The white cap on the top of the work bowl's handle broke and flew off. This is the piece that acts as a safety feature, latching the lid to the bowl and allowing it to turn on. I called KitchenAid's customer service and since my 1-year warranty is up, it would cost me $39.99 + shipping to replace the work bowl. Looking at the piece that broke off, it seems to be a bad design and appears like it would happen again, so I will not spend the money. I am still able to operate it by holding the lid down and manually releasing the safety spring in the handle. Disappointing, but at least it still works for now.

Great food processor, inconvenient storage, October 27, 2007
This review is from: KitchenAid KFP720WH 7-Cup Food Processor with 3-Cup Mini Bowl, White (Kitchen)
This food processor works very well, and has a compact design that makes countertop storage realistic. Additionally, it has the safety feature of not working unless properly assembled. I find it to be reasonably quiet, strong, and large enough for me. The one thing I actively dislike about it is the difficulty in storing the (sharp) parts when not in use -- there is no particularly good way to store the extra bowl and blade, or the grater/shredder, and all I've been able to do is set aside one area of a cupboard for these accessories.
I find the shredder works well, and the entire unit is sturdy. Grating vegetables or cheese is easy (once you figure out which side of the blade to use), and grinding works well for tough things like soaked dried beans as well as soft doughs. The mini-bowl and its blade work well, with the only minor inconvenience being that sometimes a bit of the food makes its way into the larger bowl, requiring a rinse.
All in all, I've been pleased with my machine.
