After the 1-year warranty expired, the bowl and lid started cracking all over, until I now have to replace it because the handle started detaching. The center stem is way too short which gives it much smaller capacity than 12 cups. When putting the bowl through the dishwasher, moisture and dirt remain in the hollow handle--why would the handle not be sealed?

I love the base and all the attachments to this food processor. It is powerful, not too loud and looks good, but I need to order another bowl (2nd time) in two years since they just don't hold up. I am a very occasional user, maybe 2 times a month max. If you drop the bowl though, the mechanisms in the handle just don't take the shock well.

I purchased this bowl along with a cover in November 2011 from Amazon because the bowl on our existing Kitchen food processor was beginning to crack. I was very pleased that the new bowl works perfectly with our 10-year-old food processor. The cover, however, did not work and I had to send it back. Fortunately, the old cover fits the new bowl and is still in great condition so I'm very happy.

Bottom line: If you just need to replace the bowl on your food processor, this will fit and work. Keep looking, though, if you need the cover as well (unless you have a relatively new Kitchen Aide processor.)

This KitchenAid processor is really top notch. I have used the appliance heavily for 2 years before the bowl finally gave out. This replacement bowl was a perfect fit.

If you search out this food processor reviews, you will find it is one of the top rated ones out there for a reasonable price.

I do a lot of cooking in the kitchen and am always looking for top notch reasonably priced appliances to be the "all in one" device. I'm tired of the 'toy' devices that seem to break or burn up...not this puppy!

It mixes, chops, purees, kneads dough, and so much more. Get one and you won't be sorry!

It's hard to believe that people come in and rate this product as though it were a stand alone product, as though you have a choice to different tops for your KitchenAid Food Processor. You don't, and in fact you are left with the same top that you may have not liked in the first place. That being said it isn't really fair to rate it a 2 star for poor design or quality, because you ultimately have no other option. You either throw away the unit as a whole, or you buy this wonderful top piece to replace your existing one or to add another to your kitchen.

I myself find that the quality could be better simply because my first bowl broke and thus I had to buy another one after five years of use. The new bowl works perfectly and nestles in as though it were the original piece. If you have this food processor and need another bowl, this is the piece you would want and, as far as I know, is the only piece you could get to fit in to it. If you don't like the quality, get another food processor, otherwise I found this to be exactly what I needed.
