Pros + Very powerful and fast.
Jodi Sweet
Also the 12-cup capacity means I can handle a larger quantity without making another batch and then combining everything in a separate bowl.
Sissy
I do wish that the manual was more specific on what blades do what and how to best use them.

Once again, Cooks Illustrated pointed me toward this kitchen appliance. They did not misguide me. This is a slightly different model than they recommend but I wanted something a little more colorful.

Pros

+ Very powerful and fast. This thing slices an entire potato in less time than it takes to say "potato". I put one in the shoot and was prepared to stand there for a few minutes as I did with my old Cuisinart but before I could pull my finger from the button I was done.

+ Beautiful. I really love the color on this unit. It's a lovely deep shade of red that adds a nice splash of vibrancy to the counter. It's also a nice change from the chrome finish on my Cuisinart that showed every fingerprint or sponge mark.

+ Quiet. For its size and the power I would have assumed that it would be louder. It's not at all. Granted, it's a food processor so silence is not one of its virtues, but it is much quieter than my Cuisinart that was half its size.

+ Easy to clean. Everything comes apart easily and there aren't too many nooks and crannies for food to paste itself into.

Cons

+ Shallow feed tube. The widest part of the feed tube needs to come down pretty low. This means that potatoes need to be cut in half and pieces of cabbage, et cetera will need to be trimmed down a bit. If you are using the narrower tubes, this is less of an issue because the locking mechanism is already engaged.

+ Multiple bowls are nice but don't expect perfection. If you are shredding something and only that one thing, go ahead and use the full size bowl.

This thing comes with everything you could possibly ever need to process food.
If you are thinking of trying to save some money by buying a cheaper product, remember why you are buying one of these things in the first place.... to make your life easier. This has 3 different size bowls, numerous different blades and slicers, a storage container for all the different pieces and parts, the largest top opening I have found on the market, and check out the color..... It's Candy Apple RED!!! Sure you could get a white one, or a black one, but trust me when I say this thing is not going to move a lot..... You are going to put it on your counter, and leave it there..... it weighs a ton,(maybe not an actual ton)... but a lot all the same.... I know what you're thinking... oh... it's heavy... maybe I want to buy something that's light weight.... Riiiiight.... This thing is bullet proof. It is almost silent when it is operating.... IT is POWERFUL..... Once again remember why you are considering buying a food processor... to make your life easier..... I agonized over this purchase... I could have spent 50 bucks at Wallyworld and gotten a plain black food processor..... but then I read all the reviews, cheap isn't better, it's just cheap.... I don't want to go through this every couple of years.... I finally came to the conclusion that in food processors you get what you pay for..... What I got was the most powerful, most fully loaded, easiest to use, best reviewed, and easily coolest food processor I saw on the market today..... and that's saying something, because I studied close to 30 of these things before making my decision....
Go ahead do your research.... that's why you're here... and when you're done.... come back here........ to thank me.....

Very happy so far with this great processor. A friend has a top of the line Cuisinart and this unit blows it away. The extra large processing tube really makes things easier. Not as much cutting. I do agree with one reviewer re. having to clean the large bowl even if you use the smaller bowls. The French Fry cutter does make smaller fries but if you use longer potatoes and press them through quickly the fries are an OK size. Nothing slows this thing down. Extreme power. I do wish that the manual was more specific on what blades do what and how to best use them. I am going to purchase a Food Prcessors for Dummies book to get the full use of this tool. It was always my job in the Kitchen to do the chopping and cutting. This has really made my life a lot easier and washing the bowls and cutters is sure easier than standing for an hour cutting onions and peppers.

I won't waste your time by repeating all the information listed on this product by the other reviewers. I will just say this... This machine is powerful enough to take whatever you give it. It's beautiful, efficient, and a snap to clean.

I'm very pleased with the Kitchen Aid Architect food processor! I have no other product to compare it with since this is my first food processor. But I chose this particular brand because of it's multiple uses, in addition, it also came in red, which was important to me so it matched my other appliances!
And my hummus is so creamy and easy to extract from the bowl, as opposed to a blender. Also the 12-cup capacity means I can handle a larger quantity without making another batch and then combining everything in a separate bowl. Another great feature, is that it has 3 nesting bowls of various sizes to handle jobs with different ingredients.
